Sure, he developed them (Cavani and Lavezzi) and made Napoli better. But saying he created that team, or made them from shit to CL contender is plain wrong. Edu Reja followed by Donadoni (Both played 3 at the back) is what made Napoli, Mazzarri continued their work with Delaurentis money. Under Donadoni they finished 6th, fighting for CL spot till the end. Mazzarri to Napoli was perfect match back then tbh, talented young coach who loves 3 at the back to perspective team used to play 3 at the back for years, and great potential. The perfect match that was going very well as we've seen.

A big squad makes no sense. A Kuzmanovic type of player if he gets no game time all season will just ask to leave, and because he's been out of action he'll be worth even less than he would have been at the beginning of the season. It's better to reduce the squad now and increase it when necessary. Plus, it's not like we don't have a plethora of our youth players out on loan.
