What if the troublemakers are Icardi and Handa? And the good ones are Palacio, Naga :troll:

I'm actually surprised he isn't, dude is the butt of all jokes on the team and gets made fun of constantly.

I trust this man

You guys know that I`m mostly active in the transfer threads on FIF. Frankly, after seeing each year what he has done for Roma, I wanted him here badly. I used to always envy the smart moves Roma made thanks to him, so I cannot think of a better [available] director that knows Italian Football so well.

We managed to get this man that knows how to DEAL, so a a very warm BENVENUTO WALTER!

Sabatini doesn't lack intellectual honesty for sure (and neither anecdotes).
He even confessed some kind of "complacency in being unsuccessful"... basically the tragic vanity and pleasure of being a "successful loser".
That could be very dangerous in a even more masochistic club than Roma, but at the same time he is a visionary madman and Inter is a paradox, so who knows what can come out of this combination.

The most important thing is his role: if he really has the last word on every football matter on behalf of Uncle Zhang, there's a clear direction.

I only hope he has the biggest power and decision making, is responsible for the strategy because Sabatini has that VISION which Ausilio is lacking. Ausilio may be a good purchase manager <because he's a lousy seller>, but Sabatini is top notch in my books.

>>> FACTS & FIGURES

Sabatini has shown time and time again his ability to unearth players and spin a big profit on them years down the line. While at Lazio, Sabatini signed full backs Alexander Kolarov and Stephan Lichsteiner for a combined 1.8 million euros before selling them for a combined €33 million (Kolarov €23 million to Manchester City, Lichsteiner €10 million to Juventus). At his next club, his finest piece of business was acquiring an unknown Javier Pastore for €6.5 million from Huracan before selling him two years later to Paris Saint Germain for €43 million.

His best work however was done while at Roma. In the summer of 2011, Sabatini was hired by James Pallotta to replace Daniele Prade as Roma's sporting director. Over the course of three years, he rebuilt Roma and orchestrated the near-complete removal of all of the side's below-average players that carried high wages, previously brought in from the Franco Sensi era.

Erik Lamela was signed for €17 million and sold for €35 million, Marquinhos was signed for a mere €1.5 million before being sold on to PSG for €31.4 million. Miralem Pjanic was brought in from Olympique Lyon for €11 million and left last summer to Juventus for €32 million. Mehdi Benatia was signed for €10 million and sold for €30 million. Moreover, he played a key role in the signings of Radja Nainggolan and Diego Perotti for the club.

From those listed above alone, Sabatini made a combined initial outlay of €47.8 million and made a grand profit of €156.6 million.

Suning Delivering Inter to Sabatini, The Manager Makes The Marotta And a circle Of Loyalists

By Enzo Margiotta Last updated May 26, 2017

Massara, Spalletti and Fenucci coming to Milan
Suning has given blank sheet to Sabatini, the new sports coordinator has been given the rebuilding of the Inter from the foundation. The former Roma manager, a bit like the one made by Marotta at Juventus, will surround Milano with his faithful co-workers.

The first man at his side will obviously be Luciano Spalletti. The technician will sign a biennial and will be the manager's arm. Coming from the capital also Massara, another very faithful. Even to Fenucci, the current DG of Bologna could replace the perilous Gardini in his position.

In Milano it is taking shape in a Juventus-style project. Marotta also moved from Samp to Turin with his trusted horses Paratici and Del Neri. In all this spontaneous question arises, Piero Ausilio, aside, how much will he really matter in the construction of the new Inter? Still the Nerazzurri Sports Manager, despite the cool renewal, has never been so in question.

Suning punishing Ausilio...till they make him resign?!

It's better to have his trusted people here rather than put him in our current management environment where everyone fights for their own interests. I hope they are competent people.

Yeah it's hard to argue Digne was a bad signing when he ended up at Barcelona the next year.

Inter, Sabatini: "We'll see but Spalletti is a very serious candidate for Inter's bench"

Walter Sabatini landed in Milan. The new technical director for all the teams owned by Suning Sports is starting to plan this summer's work to rebuild Inter, beginning with the coach. Exiting from the club's offices, Sabatini has said to Sky that Spalletti is a "very serious candidate but we'll see".

If this summer will be successful I'd rather want to meet Sabatini then any other guy in Inter.

Sabatini is known for moving pretty quickly in the market if I'm not mistaken. Almost impulsively. I remember him saying something like the reason he left Roma was because he didn't feel like he had the confidence from the company to move when he felt the opportunity was there. He said only when he has that confidence can he make deals like the Naingollan one come to fruition.

So hopefully once our new coach is announced we will start getting the ball rolling quickly on some new signings.

Sabatini on Totti, Spalletti, and more

Ex Roma sporting director and current Inter director Walter Sabatini appeared on La Signora in Giallorosso and spoke on many topics:
“Totti? It was an emotional day. Even for my son who was at the stadium with his shirt. If I were him, I would spend 2-3 months with my family and ponder what I want. He’d be a great talent scout because he has an extraordinary sense for things.”

“How many leave between Spalletti, Massara and Rudiger? Spalletti is a trainer on the market because I do not think he will accept renewing with Roma, considering what he has already done and said over time. He is a candidate to be the new manager of Inter. Massara also has a contractual problem and has not renewed yet with Roma so he could be of interest to me, because he is a very capable, very high-quality director, I’m considering it. Rudiger is a magnificent player, some laughed at me from the start, but they’re in good company because I received many laughs about this guy, and we all know he has become a very important player but I can not say anything on him.”

“I didn’t buy players at Roma who I bought previously. I said the exact opposite. Buying a player twice and being judged twice is not worth it. When I did this I was persecuted so I hope not to run into this situation.”

“Di Francesco? I don’t want to say much but he’s a guy who has done well in recent years. If he is confirmed then Roma must share this assessment. He plays good football and the people of Rome deserve to see beautiful football. One that is very attacking oriented. I think he could be the right choice.”

I don't think they had any other choice. Monchi signing shows they intend to focus even more on youngsters so Mancini couldn't be an option for them. Monchi could bring someone he already knows from Spain but it would be an even bigger gamble. So they basically had two options. Di Francesco and Sousa. I think EDF suits Roma more.
