Good to see Rafa atleast has the brains to rest our starters for a completely meaningless match.

We might not even lose this, im sure Werder wont field their strongest lineup either, after all they cant even make it to the EL.

How can this game be meaningless if we have a chance to avoid Chelsea, Real, Barca, Bayern, ManU etc..While Tottenham is in great form no doubt, but Twente has never lost Champ's game while playing in Holland. We can do it, but with our reported line-up, we are in deep sh..And we must hope for Twente not bending over also. This game in Germany has ultimate importance.

The odds of us winning and at the same time Tottenham not winning are not good enough to justify using our first team, considering we have the CWC (which is the only trophy we can win this season, so its a must win) and players in horrid form who could need a rest.

Look at who the players to play as 'back-ups' in this match then.
For defence it's Natalino, Lucio , Cordoba, Zanetti
The only other fit players for defence is Santon, Matrix(Fit?) and Benedetti.
Santon needs minutes so I would play him to try and regain some form.

The Lucio-Cordoba partnership, Lucio is in need of a rest but playing Cordoba-Matrix in the CL will get us nowhere but 3 guarenteed goals conceded.
Zanetti? Rest? Pfft.

In midfield say we have Motta-Cuchu, with Motta still not 100% we'll probably be forced to play him as Mariga seems to be the only one as backup, and he hasn't played in like 1.5-2 months. Again a Motta-Mariga pair cannot play 90 mins and Nwankwo is horrible.

Eto ah he hasn't played in 2 weeks will play, Milito coming back from injury will probably have 60 mins at best. Biabiany can be good in CL but just as well could be retarded again with Mancini his only backup. Wes needs a rest but with Pandev basically the only backup he has to play.

If we were to rest players for CWC our team would be dreadful

*'s beside the players that will bring absolutely 0 to us (Santon maybe not) and Mariga is incredibly rusty.
This means Motta and Eto will have to play out of their skins to drag us through)

That's pretty much another loss for us and the odds of Spurs losing to Twente is still high enough for us to give it a shot, who knows, with Rafa in Europe anything can happen.
