Heh..you all got me wrong..I was refering on formation, not the players..Of course J.Zanetti is a starter, Adriano not so sure though..

I think he would be wrong to predict which line up would do well for us this season but our first real tough match proved that we have got the right squad to play a 4-3-1-2 formation. There are many reasons for us to play with this formation and one being FIGO and the other being that STANKOVIC is not a real winger.

Stankovic earned his name when he used to play in LCM role for Lazio some seasons back so may be he would be best utilised there with our other two central midfielders - VIEIRA and CAMBIASSO.

The other but very important reason being that our wing backs are very suited for this formation as they can attack very well. This season's new addition in MAICON, GROSSO, MAXWELL would just fit to this formation very well. Hell, thanks to Maicon it seems that we wouldn't even have to worry if J.ZANETTI should be rested sometimes or just like last night J.Zanetti can be played in the left side.

It's just our first game where did formation was used and it worked !! Lets hope it really does work all the time and is used by R.Mancini.

I'll elaborate.

He should be a starting right back, but whenever there is a need to rest Stankovic, Figo, Vieira or Cambiasso, put him in the central midfield role so Maicon gets game time at right back, we shouldn't take away match time from Maxwell & Grosso (re: ofcourse I'm assuming Grosso and Maxwell are playing well).....

Maicon cannot be wasted, just CAN'T. I'm starting to love the guy.

Yeah you are right there. J.Zanetti could play in any of those positions in the midfield in that formation and Maicon would play in the right back, which he might deserve in that case, with the way he's performing.

Oh btw, Recoba could be our ideal back up player for the play-maker role.

All in all, I guess the squad is just made up for the 4-3-1-2 formation.

I would just make a few corrections..
First switching Cordoba and Samuel, but I guess you knew that just was in kind of a rush..

Switching Stanković with Viera so he can cross like last night and we need formidable player like Viera in the center..
Switching Ibra with Adri cos I belive a classical forwards system would use them better than this reverse one.. Because of the postition they find themselves in front of the goal most often and their style of play which includes wing play alot..

I always think we should two formations,especially with a squad like ours..Its seems finally that we might be able to perfect the 4-3-1-2 but still the 4-4-2 should be great with these players if utilized the right way

One thing I can tell you right away

We can't play "last season Juve style", because it will be like in the first half of Roma game.

I hope, and wish Mancio knows that after the game.

You didn't get my point

We can't play 4-4-2 at all with our players, because no matter what we do it will be always very similar to first half against Roma.

We would probably win a lot of games, but most of them 1:0 or so, but what is worse, we will play terrible, and we won't win anything in this season.

We have to play accordingly to the players we have at our disposal.

I'm convinced, the formation ni my sig is the one we should stick to for the season, the 4-3-1-2. Our squad is made for it, and who knwos? When Figo gets tired of dominating teams then he can step in and shine his shoes so Figo can keep on playing.

Seriously though, Chino could be useful if we do adopt this 4-3-1-2 as our main formation. And i definately hope so. I also like the idea of resting JZ so Maicon can get ample time. He's super dangerous just like I said from the get go.
