can't have Pavard and Frattesi without selling some of the starters

I know Audero or Carnesecchi are more likely, I just couldn't make myself write those names

GK: Trubin, Handanovic, Cordaz

DEF: Darmian, Bisseck, Acerbi, DeVrij, Bastoni, Umtiti

WB: Dimarco, Augusto, Pereyra, Weiser/Mazzocchi/Mazraoui

MID: Barella, Sensi/Samardzic, Hakan, Asllani/Hjulmand, Mkhi, Frattesi

FWD: Lautaro, Thuram, Lukaku, Gnonto/Nzola

As seen above we’re still in for a very busy summer providing we want to have two players per position. Assuming we sell Onana the most realistic move seems to be Trubin with Handanovic extending for a year I guess which is good enough.

In Defence we‘re almost set with Bisseck coming in, and I‘d rather go for Umtiti to rotate with Acerbi and Bastoni rather than Demiral on the other side, because I think that Bisseck can adapt there as a right footed player and Darmian had a great season.

On the wings obviously anything depends on Dumfries and Gosens staying or leaving. My preferences would be Pereyra and Weiser. The latter had a fantastic season at Bremen on the same position at the same system and had great football education coming through the ranks of Bayern. Sadly we are not linked to him though he is entering the last year of contract. Alternatives can be Mazzocchi or Lazzari from Serie A, but also a late bid on Mazraoui is possible, as he is destined to leave Bayern.

In midfield we’ve done the most important move which is bringing Frattesi. Without Brozovic I’d rather rely on a more experienced Backup for Hakan than Asllani which would be Hjulmand who‘s also in the last year of his contract. For the sixth position I would settle with Sensi considering Pereyra would also be in the squad.

In attack we’d be pretty much covered by having LuLa and Tikus. In the event of selling Correa I’d have a try for Gnonto who has limitless potential for this position or someone cheaper like Nzola.

In order for those things to happen I’d sacrifice Onana, Dumfries, Asllani, Gosens, and Correa if possible. The squad in general pretty much depends on those guys being sold or not sold.

Pereyra would be smoked at RWB, where did you even dream of that?

Pereyra could back up several roles and is available on a free. It does sound like a Marotta deal.

If we get Pereyra, Marotta could skip Bella replacement, as Darmian and Pereyra will cover Dumbfries.

He‘s played that position multiple times last season.

Did he though or was he just closing in the middle all the time? He was on the right wing playing in the 3412 and had a free role.
Much different from how Dumfries is supposed to be playing.

Absolutely nothing about Dumfries for months, I think he'll stay. Gosens, at least some rumors, but they better happen quick or Augusto will be gone. Probably will give Lazaro a hard look this summer, but I'm not confident about him. Surprised they haven't moved to resign Handa to a cheap deal, anticipating Onana being sold (Damn). Correa is probably not going anywhere either. Lukaku will probably return. Pereyra, I gather, is utility player and cheap so I see that. Still need another goalkeeper though.

This website is like crack so I'm going to just type up something now that Lukaku is out of the picture -

GK: Trubin, Sommer, Di Gennaro
DEF: Darmian, Acerbi, Bastoni, De Vrij, Dumfries, Dimarco, Bisseck, Lazaro, Tomiyasu, Carlos Augusto
MID: Hakan, Asllani, Barella, Mkhitaryan, Frattesi, Fabbian, Samardzic/Gravenberch (loan+option)
FOR: Lautaro, Correa, Thuram, Balogun/Mane/Dybala (Dybala if that 20m release clause is real)

*B+U: Rumours/my own suggestions

*Yellow: Confirmed new players/loan returns
---

I was all ready to write about how important it would be to land Pavard but then Fabrizio Romano tweeted about City going for him so never mind. Let's desperately hope Darmian and Acerbi can repeat their freak performances last year.

We can do all this with the Onana and Gosens money, I think. The biggest reaches are Samardzic/Gravenberch and Tomiyasu, but I think targets of that type are definitely within reach. I am a Lazaro truther, so just humour me here, at least he offers different characteristics to Dumfries.

I am most worried about the ST position as the forwards market is so poor at the moment, hence me being willing to even pay that Dybala release clause.

Desperate for Correa to be tempted by a Saudi offer but that seems very unlikely, especially as he recently got married. If we got a 10/15m for him, I'd try and go for someone proven who would be happy to play 4th fiddle, like Choupo-Moting or even Beto.

I would argue this team is actually slightly worse than last season, but has better depth and is MUCH younger and therefore has room to grow. Good enough for top 4, but far from certain to win the Scudetto.

Where those Tomiyasu rumours come from? Would love him, but are we even linked with him?

my starting 11 for the beginning will be.

............Sommer............

Dumfries-Darmian-Acerbi-Bastoni-Dimarco
Barella-Hakan-Miki
Lautaro-Balogun/thuram

then we'll integrate Frattesi. Cuadrado, more minutes for Asllani, keep Gosens. As i say, Correa should get Gags minutes.
