Frisko, I don't think Chivu had a history of injury problems at Ajax. I think it was just last and this season only.

I have a feeling that Moratti will sepnd some good amount of $$ for next season's Inter and it could be a grande INTER !! :proud:

As we all know, we finally have a coach who seems to be doing well. So, I have a feeling that Inter management is up for some star players, especially in defence. No wonder we have been rumoured to players like Chivu and co.

Our team is ALMOST perfect. If we get a world class CB, LB, may be a midfielder and a quality sub, incase we sell both Vieri and Recoba (which I think will be done).

I also like the rumours lately, as we have been rumoured to quality AND YOUNG players (as someone mentioned).

CHIVU
MANCINI
KOMPANY
TORRES

Well, it's just a feeling of mine that we will make some big movies in transfer market, not like before, when we used to make wholesale changes, but very few.

GK - J.Cesar, Toldo (?), ...
LB candidates - Dede, Chivu, Maxwell, Evra, Potenza (I doubt it),. ..
CB candidates - Chivu, Kompany, Luisao, .....
Attacking Midfielder/s - Mancini, Totti, Essein (?), ....
Striker - Makinwa, Torres, ..... (or just a good back up striker)

Although I disagree with Frisko on Chivu's injury problems, I can understand his skepticism, especially when it's combined on how luck we have been when it comes to injuries. But being a person who hates changes and love consistency & continuity like me, I still feel that Chivu alone is enough to solve our defensive problem. We have a very deep defense and I think adding Chivu alone is enough. God knows why but I am still optimistic about Burdisso. My current assumption is that he hasn't adapt to the city of Milan yet and once he is settle down, I hope and expect improve performances by him. I am optimistic because we have a lot of Argentinians in the club who will help him in doing so. The fact that the most favourite player and the captain of the club is Argentinian also helps.

Actually it`s this season only.

Cristian Chivu`s stats from his career so far

2003/2004 ROMA Serie A 22 2

2002/2003 AJAX Serie A 26 6

2001/2002 AJAX Serie A 32 1

2000/2001 AJAX Serie A 26 5

1999/2000 AJAX Serie A 23 1

1998/1999 Un. Di Craiova 32 3

1999/1998 CSM Resita 23 2

And that`s only the league games. Labelling him as an "injury-machine" (kudos to ZZANG) is a joke.

Thanx, so it was just this year, that's hardly a fair label then. BTW, what does the second column represent, cup games?

You say it's been only one season while Chivu was affected by injury, fair enough, even if that was a major problem and some players never come back as strong after such episodes.

Anyway, it's not just the fitness factor. I'm not sure if Chivu is a player that can make a big difference. He's promising but to me he hasn't proven he's a champion yet.

If we have to take a gamble, I'd much rather gamble on Kompany.

I didn't wont him here in the first place, since I from the first time we where rumoured to him know, that he could not make the difference, so in my oppenion it woulden matter who we got of thise Kompany, Chivu and Luisao since no one of thise secretion from each other.

I read a rumor that we have offered €12 million for Kompany. Anderlecht declined to sell Kompany to us, because Kompany had said (according to that rumor that is) that he doesn´t want to play in Italy.

Story also said that Chelsea are in pole position to sign him in the summer. Other possibilities are Barca and R€al.

It seems that Chivu wants to stay at Roma, Kompany doesn´t want to play in Italy, who should we buy then...Laurent Blanc? :p

None is the right answer...

I am certain moratti could convince chivu as well. Of those on the market the only ones I see which will improve this inter defence in the short term would be chivu or juan. The other's. Kompany could in the logn run. While guys like luizau aren't good enough and shouldn't get close to inter.

Don T, I read this rumor from goal.com and it's bogus. Anderlecht said they never received any offer for Kompany, not even from Chelsea or Real.

Also, Kompany told Squadra personally that he doesn't mind joining us.

Yeah, it's been said like that in the goal.com rumour and in calciomercato rumour (few days back), it was said that only Chelsea was the club who has made an official approach to him till now.

But one can't forget Barcelona as well, as Kompany has been their target as well. Chelsea - Barcelona - Juventus - Inter - ?? Who else ... Lets hope that we would get him at the end of the day BUT .... :p

Who will win Kompany's heart ?? Inter ?? Chelsea's $$ or ...

i just watched Luisao play against Uraguay, and he didnt impress me at all...

I dont mind if we dont get Kompany, i dont except us to so it doesnt bother me. But Chivu would be nice...but him leavin roma? hmm

I just dont want another revolution. the worst that could happen is that Moratti does another Moranatti job and goes skitz on the transfers

We could end up with less room for everyone. instead of the oppisote thats why i think if this does happen, we will get both Luisao and Kuffour.

Kompany said that he wants to play in either Spain or England in the future, and that he didn't want to play in Italy. I believe he has already rejected an offer from us. I'm not so sure though.

Well Luisao impressed me at the beginning of the campaign but if this is your recent analysis then maybe he isn't the answer. However I am almost sure he will come to Inter so let's just hope that his form improves. I also would like another centre back but it now seems as if Kompany is beyond us, with Real, Chelsea and Barca expressing an interest. Samuel is too big a player as well. Maybe Barzagli could be the answer?

The midfield is very strong at the moment but I think we will probably make one or two signings to replace the inevitable departures of VDM, Davids and probably Emre. We have been linked to Mascherano and I would love him. He is a brilliant player and when the chance comes along to get a world class player then we should take it. However, we would then struggle to find room for Veron and Stankovic. I guess we will just sign a RW and Mancini would be a great solution.

Up front is where I except widespread changes. Bobo may go, possibly in a swap for Torres. Recoba will almost definitely go to Sampdoria where he will thrive under Novellino.

Squad:

J.Cesar
Frey
Carini

J.Zanetti
Barzagli
Cordoba
Luisao
Burdisso
Miha
Coco
Favalli

Mancini

CZ
Cambiasso
Mascherano
Stankovic
Emre
Beati
Semioli
Kily

Adriano
Oba
Torres
Makinwa

Prefered line-up:

-------------------Cesar---------------------

Zanetti----Luisao------Cordoba------Coco

Mancini/Veron-Mascherano-Cambiasso-Deki

------------Oba---------Adriano-----------

Believe me, if we want Kompany all we need to do is to get him in a room with Moratti, a blank contract and a pen.

Massimo could convince Maldini to join us :D
