Wow, okey Crespo & Henry, take a chill pill. Relax

No one will remember Totti because he didn't win shit. Not remembered?==> Not a legend.

Compared to Henry, Henry will actually be remembered

You guys started to discuss who is better and what not, I'm just saying he only is a legend for Roma. Do you know him personally or something?

CC why start this conversation again? this will never lead to anything other than name calling and disrespecting great players, can we just all agree that we have slightly different criterias and opinions when it comes down to what is a legend or not?

And get back to discussing serie a and how we are ahead of jube at the moment!!!

Well, seeing that the person "arguing" thinks that Totti sucks and won't be remembered because he wasn't in some XI during his peak when the said selection only started in 2005 and the Uefa Team (inception in 2001) were a popularity contests amongst various players & an online popularity contest respectively. So it basically means shit.

I think there's no need to even discuss this anymore. You're just constantly and repeatedly admitting that you have no idea who the legend Francesco Totti is. It's no real surprise that your nickname revolves around hating on an Inter player after all...

Please
So yeah, don't blame people for saying things they didn't say, it's not polite.

Respect your own opinion and don't blame people for things they didn't say.

And it all started here
I'd say in the past 10 or 15 years, he's definitely in the conversation for the top 10...........why is that so outlandish?

You were just some random guy making stories up about what I've said and not said. Shit.

Lets say people not from Italia or supporters of any italian team. What will he be remembered for?

I mean in +5 years, will children from all over the world remember Totti or Henry?

Define legend. When I grew up there was several players I hadn't seen but who I've read about and learned about because they were legends. Pele and Maradona are remembered because of trophies they didn't win but could have?

Nobody remembers losers or people who COULD have won trophies.

In a way, you could argue one reason Gerrard will be remembered is for NOT winning the PL

Totti won the World Cup. He almost won the Euro with Toldo being the only other worthy teammate despite the great team Italy possessed on paper (that's how strong the competition was).
Totti won the Serie A with Roma when everybody expected at least 4 teams to finish ahead of them.
But yeah, that doesn't count I guess.

But you're right. Nobody knows who Gary Lineker is.
Nobody rates Mendieta.
No one has heard the name Hector Cuper before.
Roberto Baggio is also some clown that no one will hear about.
No one heard of Michael Owen.
Ronaldo and Zlatan never won the CL or even been to the final so they're probably not worth any mention either.
Bergkamp won a lousy Uefa Cup and almost got Inter relegated and then won a couple of titles in England, who's heard of him?
Ballack? Who's that guy?

As for your question, people that do not witness something cannot remember it. They're taught it. And now that depends on the media. Get why the whole discussion exists now? Just because the media you read doesn't talk about Leonidas or doesn't tell you that Garrincha > Pele during their prime, it doesn't mean that it's not true. You just have to learn some things while others are served to you every day due to the exposure and hype they receive. It's like most kids think that Cristiano > Ronaldo, which is ridiculous.

I think people will remember Totti and Henry. If not, they are not educated. For fucks sake, I still remember Overmars and Davids, I loved the Dutch team back in the day.

What jackshit did Totti do in the CL other than repeatedly getting whacked by English clubs?

This argument is really awkward considering we rate Zanetti so highly and he only ever saw 1 CL final and 2(?) semi-finals. Sure he won it, but we were never hot contenders in his 20 years as a player at Inter, and he started winning Scudetti when the league was weakened.

True, and thats why worldwide and In Argentina he is not as highly regarded as by Inter fans / club and people familiar with Serie A to a certain extent. But Zanetti was a defender, one can say Totti as the main forward should have done more to get his team further in the CL. Its all subjective.

Are you fucking high? What have Totti won? You only compare with CL? With Totti you can start comparing League titles and not CL. Why try to reach the stars when he can't fucking reach the league title. He won the scudetti how many times, ONCE? You fkn dare to compare him with Ibra? Ibrahimovic as a 30 years old took by himself a scudetti but the great fucking legendary Totti can't do that can he.

Gary Lineker= Didn't you say PL players don't matter? Correct me if I'm wrong but Henry was playing in PL right?

You are even contradicting your own posts.

So yeah, don't blame people for saying things they didn't say, it's not polite.

I'll just stop. You don't even consider Henry a legendary player but fucking Totti

Second highest goalscorer in Serie A's history, won a world cup, a scudetto, and shit tons of record breaking above legendaries like Meazza and Baggio.

What the fuck is going on in this thread?

Look at top 5 most apperances in Serie A and then compare titles

He've become top scorer only once. Compare the top 5 goalscorers ever in Serie A. It's fucking ridiculous

Let's make things more complicated

back in 2009/2010, with the service of Sneijder, Maicon, and Eto'o, which one better?

Icardi, Milito, Henry, Totti?

@mods this thread needs cleaning. I don't want to read an off topic discussion with quotes piled up on each other for 3 days straight.

Totti is a striker

If you want to compare who's the best midfielder of all time, I'd say Sneijder>Xavi>Iniesta>Recoba>Pirlo>De Rossi>Busquets>Guti>Seedorf>Zizou>Scholes>Lampard

Gerrard won't come anywhere close

Recoba? Might as well throw Rivaldo there.. ahh kids nowadays even forgot Rui Costa, Veron, Ballack, Existed.
