10 years of FIFForum SupporterSeems to be one of those more physical power and less football intelligence. Not totally bad since you surely need to be tough in Serie A, and it's not like he's Dalbert coming from a totally different football background. I think he's coming to be D'Ambrosio when the latter leaves. No way he's replacing Hakimi and we have to accept the fact that we've been massively downgraded from last season.

FIF Special OnesI think you guys are being a bit too pessimistic. He alone isn’t a special player but I think he could be the right fit for our system right now. Hopefully we are greater then the sum of our parts. This team lacks speed and athleticism, especially after our sales. Hopefully he can bring a bit of that and the odd D’Ambrosio special.
I followed him since we played PSV in the Champions League and even though he isn't the "flashy" (a la Sanchez creativity) player, his playing style is intelligent in the sense of him finding the right spaces to be dangerous in. Defensively he will be not as disciplined as Italian defenders, but certainly capable to handle his task thanks to his physical stature. I am of the oppinion that many people will be surprised by how fitting Dumfries is for the RWB position rather than the RB position. For 14-15 mln. he is basically a no brainer (hope he doesn't turn out to be a no brainer by himself though )

I’m slowly starting to come to the opinion that as a RWB, he could be a decent solution for around 12-15mil. Solely because wingback is a workhorse position and he appears to be that type of player with decent athleticism. How many mediocre players have we seen be respectable as wingbacks? His crossing is at least as good as Hakimi’s even if his raw skill and technique doesn’t even come close.
It’s still a risky move and I would prefer Nandez if we can only have 1 tbh, but Cagliari are being cunts as usual and we need another player in that position now. Still prefer Dumfries to Bellerin/ Zappacosta/ Lazzari by a country mile.

He looks like a proper donkey technically, but other than that, he's got a tank in him. Strong, fast, aggressiveness in both defense and offence and can run for days. Hope we can get something out of his physical qualities.

Best Overall PosterThe sad day was when we sold Hakimi. Now we're trying to do damage limitation. To me it feels like when we went from Maicon to D'Ambrosio.
I keep hearing criticisms about Dumfries from you and Reco. You have watched Dumfries a lot more than the rest of us so i respect your opinion. But i don't hear any suggestions about another player we should have got for a similar price. Out of all the other players we were linked with, imo Dumfries was the best option. Perhaps he will end up being the new Santiago Arias. A good player for Eredivisie but not good enough for a top league. But i certainly prefer taking a risk with him than:
- 30-year old injury prone Florenzi
- Bellerin who has been shit after his injury and he has been benched by Cedric, our Cedric
- Nandez who was valued at 25m and he has only played as a rwb for 6-months
