Off the top of my head, I can only think of a few Russian players that have played outside of Russia: Arshavin and Pogrebnyak and Palvlyuchenko. I don't think any of them really qualify as flops. Arshavin was good for Arsenal early on but decided to stop putting any effort into the game. The two strikers have both been decent, although Pogrebnyak didn't score many goals for Stuttgart. I also forgot Zhirkov who was injured quite often at Chelsea. They obviously are not world beaters, but taking a chance on Dzagoev on a free transfer makes more sense than spending millions on a player from Argentina B. He is 21, has caps for Russia, played in the champions league, and he is one of the most talented players in Russia.

each his personal opinion i guess. but i do think most spurs fans will agree upon calling pavluchenko a flop and zhirkov in retrospect did flop in chelsea. arshavin was an exception but it didnt last either. never heard of that stuttgard guy... there was also kerzhakov from sevilla who was pretty :palm:

dybabla is a little bitch tho, i never said anything about wasting money on him. lol

Getting Dzagoev would be nice! If we sell Sneijder (who is the only real WorldClass player left in our squad though) and get Dzagoev for free, we can spend the rest on a CB and Lavezzi, maybe Doumbia

I would be happy if we got Dzagoev...that's not to say he should be our top target...This is a quality young player with Champions league experience, who is likely to go on the cheap considering current conditions..at least i believe he would be a safer bet than the overpriced, untested south americans.

I fucking LOVE Dzagoev. He is one of the top young players in the world. I'd be thrilled if we get him.

But that's ONLY if we sell Sneijder. Otherwise, no, we have Wes, Cou and Ricky for that position. And Dzagoev won't accept the bench.

How is Cout even doing in Spain? Wes is injured a lot and will Ricky really help us become champions next season?

It's great we have 3 ATM but if none are all that great then why not pick up a 3rd. This is the same argument people were making about not getting more CBs last summer.

If we make champions league I see us being a very attractive option to many players because we are going through a rebuilding period and these young players can actually have a chance to start for us !!! If they go to City, United, Chelsea, Barca, Real they have a way better chance of winning champions league but have little shot of getting playing time, that and they will most likely be sold the next season without ever really being given a shot.

alex song and mvilla are linked with us. Do we really need to spend money on a DM or let Crisatieg get a chance ?

If its ok with you I'd rather not rely on a guy who has played 1 minute of professional first team football since he joined the first team squad THREE SEASONS ago.

Call me crazy, but..

Given how rubbish our midfield has been since Thiago Motta left, yes, we need to spend money. And out of those two I'd pick Song with absolutely no hesitation. I would rather avoid M'Vila for the time being...

Song can pass and I'd rate him as the only Arsenal player with any physicality. I'd be curious as to what he would want for wages.

Cristeg probably needs a season in Serie B or at a lower level club in Serie A before stepping into our midfield. If he's met the UEFA club-trained criteria I think that would be a good option.

Then again, Strama knows him well and if he stays on then perhaps he will promote Cristeg. If we don't qualify for the CL then we'd be better off actually giving Cristeg a run before spending what little money we will have on a position we probably have covered.

That's the problem. The only purchase Inter will make regardless is Isla, all the rest will depend of what we achieve on the current season.

I wonder why Inter didnt make a move for Kwadwo Asamoah, that guy is one of the most complete midfielders in Italy....He is the closest thing to Vidal atm. Having him, Guarin and Poli in our midfield next season wouldnt be such a bad idea.

Asamoah is probably too expensive for us. I mean Udinese rates him very highly so unless the player really wants to go, his price is close to 20m€. I don't think we need the player THAT badly since we are already going to spend money on at least Poli and probably Guarin too.

If you see the training pictures nowadays, he is always there.
