Yes, but there's a difference between being on a five year contract and being paid peanuts and being on a five year contract and getting paid 10 million per season.
There is absolutely no way that we can compete with the likes of PSG and City when it comes to wages and trying to retain our players.
Hakimi, thanks for the fling! It was great while it lasted!
We gave him a five-year contract too, and a lot of good that did. Maybe next year Moneybags FC will buy him off PSG for a quintillion dollars.
Hakimi has 5m€ net salary at Inter. Not exactly a peanuts contract. Surely less than what PSG offers (8m€ + 2m€ bonus per season), but it's not like it's not a normal salary for a top player who moves to PSG. All of them gets crazy wages.
And this move has nothing to do with the salary, Hakimi hasn't pushed for this move, until he realized we want to sell him.
Really sucks that we can't get even 70m€ guaranteed money while the initial ask was 80m€. It ends up being 65m€ + bonuses reaching to around 70m€. Not a good deal. We won't make even 40m€ plusvalenza with this sale.
Hakimi already is in the top 3 in his position at the age of 22. Finding another Hakimi is easier said than done. And the whole process of replacing Hakimi is becoming even more difficult when you take into consideration our financial situation. You aren't going to reinvest money from Hakimi sale in order to reinforce the team. Despite Hakimi sale, you still have no money to spend.
That word alone is sufficient to cross his name out. Sensi alone is more than enough. No matter that you have the talent of Ronaldo, it is useless if you can show only on the armchair.I'd rather get Mazraoui from Ajax for cheap. Good technical RB and surely can play as a RWB. Although he had some downfall and injuries.(he is replaced by a 18 year old youthproduct). He was immense in that CL year where Ajax dominated Europe.

Hakimi is simply the hardest (if not impossible) to replace. We can find a MC, a DC, or striker everywhere with same quality. But not a right wingback. Not sure what all the fuss is about. Losing our 7-8th most important player for 70M sounds like a W to me. If we can replace Hakimi with a RB that can cross and a decent LWB (Lazzarri and Kostic rumored) I won't lose sleep over it.

RWB is so rare that EVERYONE I could think of is a massive downgrade. If you argue otherwise, name me an adequate replacement? (Lazzari...lol, he is closer to Florenzi or Zappacosta than Hakimi)

7-8th? Definitely not. We don't know how things are going to be under Inzaghi but under Conte Hakimi was the second most important player for our attacking game. Only Lukaku was more important.
And no thanks to Lazzari. He only has speed and decent crossing. Shit in defence and even his finishing is nothing special. There are much better options if we're willing to spend 20m+.

As far as I know from having watched Lazio, the bulk of our attacking threat will likely switch from being the wings to being through the two mezzalas, whoever they're going to be. It's also why I'm expecting another signing ala DvdB on loan to really shore up our options in the middle of the pitch.
If we're spending any money, I'd really rather not deal with Lotito especially after we robbed Inzaghi off of him. He'll ask 25m for Lazzari who is worth about 15m, and then turn that money around to buy Kostic.
And Hakimi was definitely top 3 important attacking player. Lukaku, Hakimi, Barella.
