again, kolorov is no world beater and i am very shocked at how much you guys want him in our team; especially at the sacrfice of one the most promising defensive talents IN THE WORLD..

i don't see any other teams in serie A trying to get him (especially juve/milan since their LB situation is worse than ours) or any teams outside of serie A either..

i've seen him a lot and i honestly think he is just an average LB, probably up to maxwell standards (maxwell is technically better; kolarov has a better shot; both are very average defensively)

RIGHT NOW (at least till the end of the season), like or not, zanetti HAS TO PLAY..
where he plays is a matter of needs of the team

as i said in another thread, i would much prefer to stick zanetti at LB and play a proper midfield (cuchu, deki, motta, wes), than bring somebody in at LB and stick zanetti in midfield..

furthermore, the impatience with santon is rather ridiculous and this is exactly why youth players head to the EPL, La Liga, and even Germany instead of Italy...

We all saw what santon could do...period
santon is not just "potential"...
He played against THE BEST in the world and was able to perform better than the most seasoned defender and he was only 18..

he had a bad patch of form and some niggling injuries....IN 6 MONTHS FFS!
and you want to let him go??

if he was a starter and our only LB, then it would be a good option...
but the fact that we have enough cover (chivu + zanetti) means we can bring him back to form (didn't he play pretty well against Al Hilal?)

he is a youth player, yet shows the same inconsistency that chivu/maxwell/kolarov all show..

santon shits all over kolarov any day of the week and twice on sunday..

please go watch some lazio games with kolarov..
please

he is NOT THAT GOOD!

"Kolarov's agent, Sergio Berti, has already made it known that his client will not been renewing his contract when it formally expires in 2012. This means he can free himself in June according to article 17. from football-italia.. "Webster Clause" - Article 17 of Fifa's rules---"a player who signed a contract before the age of 28 is entitled to buy himself out of the contract three years after the deal was signed." In the summer of 2010, it will be 3 years for Kolarov in Lazio..

Here is where the 8 millions comes up..Lotito doesnt want to loose another of his key players, after Pandev ofcourse..Kolarov can buy up his contract in June after the rule, hes earning like 250k or so, and the contract is for 2,5years or so..So for Lotito , its a pocket full of pennies OR a nice transfer of this 8 millions into Lazio account..

I will be happy if Kolarov will join with us, also Pandev is almost done. These would be really great additions, but I'm confused a bit with Santon, if Kolarov joins there will be little space for him, and chances to be standard in our formation are really little. But to be honest Kolarov would be perfect LB at our team.

Go to any JuBe or Milan forums, and you will see the majority of their fans would take Kolarov in a heartbeat.

When Kolarov to Inter roumors surfuced there were bunch of posts in likes of:

"Oh right, and now merda is going for Kolarov, but yeah we're ok with shitty Grosso/Jankulovski"

The reason JuBe or Milan is not buying him, is because they can't afford 10 mln for a sideback, with Berlusconi not willing to spend a dime, and JuBe having issues in other crucial arreas of their squad.

Kolarov is one of the best left side backs in Italy, alongside Criscito and Vargas.

Playing minutes is not everything.

methods of training, classy opponents on training, competition to get to the starting lineup, concentration when he is on the pitch, etc. are big factors in developing.

In Lazio he would be on the pitch all the time without competition and he would have low moral because of the serial losses...

Everybody says Kolarov is fucking good at attacking. A bit better than Santon. But in defense? i think he is way poorer.

How many assists have Kolarov in his 60 Serie A -matches?

Because, for me, his 4 goals and 4-5 (?) asists are not worth the risk of our defensive-line.

If you say that Kolarov is poor at defending, and Santon isn't, then you've been watching training games :D

Man, Kolarov is great defender.. He is fast, but strong, and doesn't let opponents get by him.. He tooks them out. I don't want to compare Kolarov and Santon, you all do that. But the fact is, Kolarov is much better player ATM, like it or not. I love Santon, but he may be our full back in 2-3 years, not now.

You're right, and all that is important.

But the game experience will always top the training regime, unless it is a playing time in a low level club, like Serie C club. But at Lazio if he would play, the fact that they don't have as good facilities as us, that maybe their training methods are not as good, will be trumped by playing time.

Bonucci playing at Bari all the time will always be better than Bonucci being in first team, but not playing at all, or playing 3-5 games a season.

again, kolorov is no world beater and i am very shocked at how much you guys want him in our team; especially at the sacrfice of one the most promising defensive talents IN THE WORLD..!

the question is he is playing out of position... he aint a real left back and you still dont get the point

i don't see any other teams in serie A trying to get him (especially juve/milan since their LB situation is worse than ours) or any teams outside of serie A either....!

great point mate .... maybe they cant afford him

i've seen him a lot and i honestly think he is just an average LB, probably up to maxwell standards (maxwell is technically better; kolarov has a better shot; both are very average defensively)..!

lol ... thats why Kolarov can play CM ,DM ,AM,LM and left back.. thats why Kolarov can shoot and score GOALS with his right foot..did i mention he can CROSS weith his right foot

RIGHT NOW (at least till the end of the season), like or not, zanetti HAS TO PLAY..
where he plays is a matter of needs of the team)..!
whatever really

as i said in another thread, i would much prefer to stick zanetti at LB and play a proper midfield (cuchu, deki, motta, wes), than bring somebody in at LB and stick zanetti in midfield....!

ok no bullshit

furthermore, the impatience with santon is rather ridiculous and this is exactly why youth players head to the EPL, La Liga, and even Germany instead of Italy.......!

whatever

We all saw what santon could do...period
santon is not just "potential"...
He played against THE BEST in the world and was able to perform better than the most seasoned defender and he was only 18.........

we saw he can patch up the LB position if need be,we saw he aint a real LB and hasnt a left foot...why dont we want him to play on the right??

maybe its because he isnt ready and Mourinho realises it...youre right he is 18 and has alot to do to make an impact in the XI

he had a bad patch of form and some niggling injuries....IN 6 MONTHS FFS!
and you want to let him go??.........

who wants him to go???...I WANT HIM TO UTILISE HIS BEST OPTIONS...HIS RIGHT FOOT...TO PLAY ON THE RIGHT

if he was a starter and our only LB, then it would be a good option...
but the fact that we have enough cover (chivu + zanetti) means we can bring him back to form (didn't he play pretty well against Al Hilal?)??.........

cHIVU,zANETTI,sANTON,wOME havent more than 5 assists betweem them @ Inter...great thory lets use our left side as some sort of out of position spot for players that cant crack the team

he is a youth player, yet shows the same inconsistency that chivu/maxwell/kolarov all show..

santon shits all over kolarov any day of the week and twice on sunday...........

dont be a cow...if thats a parting shot it should be in the womens WC

please go watch some lazio games with kolarov..
please...........

I HAVE... and just you watch him @ the WC Adriana

he is NOT THAT GOOD!

testament to you

id just want real options for our players...how many talents do we have to kill because they get used out of position @ Inter

Vargas? The same Vargas who got pushed up to left midfield because of his poor deefending?

I disagree. Looking at Santon from last season up till now, he's the better defender. Kolarov just has a great left foot but he's not a good defender, positionally or in terms of tackling. He's as bad as Vargas actually, Dossena or Jankulowski. But recently he's been playing as Left Wing back and unsurprisingly his performances have improved vastly.

If you think so, then even better.

That leaves Kolarov and Criscito as the best left side backs in the league.

Playing minutes is not everything...

For Santon it is... He wants to play at the world cup. That won't happen unless he gets some serious playing time to prove himself.

Arriving the week of the derby. To Lazio are the eight million, Santon on loan, and two youngsters.

Milan - Wesley Sneijder was the one that basically blew up the tactical plans of Leonardo. In three weeks Kolarov could be the anti-Milan instead. Massimo Moratti and Marco Branca, are currently crafting an early birthday present for Jose Mourinho, who will turn 47 years old on January 26th, two days after the derby.

Attempting Real Aleksandar has been on Marco Branca's list for at least a year and a half. Powerful, technique, a great left foot and he can provide tactical flexibility. Key characteristics to obtain a pass in the world of Mourinho. And not surprisingly, in this short transfer window, the Portuguese has became more and more convinced and the operation now seems a few steps from the conclusion. Just a couple of days to digest all aspect of the deal for Pandev, then the technical director of Inter and Lotito and speed up the negotiation aiming to reach an agreement by the 16-17 of January, just a week before the derby. In the last hours Real Madrid have also shown interests but the player has already expressed his preference for the Nerazzurri in case of transferring.

The figure Lazio value Kolarov around 15 million euros, Inter will try to lower the cost by sending Santon on loan, two youngsters in co-ownership and 8 million. An offer that seems very appropriate for at least a couple of motives: the player does not wish to renew (expires in 2012), and in June he can leave due to the Article 17. The loan of Santon (motivated by the prospect of South Africa 2010), would eventually cover the team of Lotito's left wing until May. So with a wider margin for him to find alternatives for next season.

versitalityofkolarov.jpg

And tactically
... Dejan Stankovic has spoken very highly of his compatriot. Mourinho sincerely appreciates the versatility of Kolarov, a left-back, but if necessary also a solid midfielder with a lethal shot that sometimes makes him even more useful. In short, he is a modern player, most prominent weapon for the upcoming double-header with Chelsea.

Mancini or Baptista
Meanwhile, regardless of what Arnautovic's destiny is, the team will have new offensive plans in the future, probably not even in June. In short, next season we will see Eto'o, Milito, Balotelli and Pandev to ensure the success of Inter. So, tracking Baptista remains bound only to a possible sale of Mancini. Possible inclusion of the baby Destro in the first team.

So in June And with the attacking system is pretty much in place. In June, Branca and Moratti will concentrate on the other two departments. In midfield, Vieira will be out of contract (according to England, Mancini likes him pretty much), while they could aim to bring home a few million from the sale of Quaresma and Muntari. From that they will try to cover the costs on two major objectives for Inter: Yoann Gourcuff and Cesc Fabregas, 23 year-old Frenchman, a year younger than the Spaniard. As for the defense, on top of the list is Jerome Boateng, the 21 year-old central defender from Hamburg in the Bundesliga. Another name is Anndrea Ranocchia, playing for the U-21 Azzurri and Bari.

A lot of speculating is going on...:p
