Selling him for 40m would be a great deal. Molina of Udinese would be an upgrade over him IMO and he costs less than 30m.

According to Calciomercato.com, the big player who could be sold instead is Dumfries, who only joined a year ago from PSV Eindhoven for a bargain €13.7m.
He scored five goals and provided five assists in 33 Serie A games, tripling his value on the transfer market, as Inter have set a €40m price-tag on the 26-year-old.

Manchester United had already shown interest in the 26-year-old right-back over the last few days and now La Gazzetta dello Sport suggest that Chelsea are also in the running for Dumfries.

* seems that Dumfries could be the one bringing in an offer after all.

If one “top” player most be sold it’s obvious it’s him. From a purely sporting perspective we can take the hit of losing Dumfries the most right now.

Darmian can be the back up in that role for one more season and hopefully we got a real reserve LWB (not Lazaro). Or we could dip into the loan market, maybe someone like Sergino Dest on loan. Someone who could help a bit with the lite creativity issues on the wing.

But you mean selling Dumfries next summer as you're talking about Darmian being a backup for RWB. Surely you're not suggesting Bellanova would be our starter this season? It would definitely be Darmian as starter.

If we lose Dumfries we are def weaker then last season. Our flanks would be nonexistential.

I think I rate Bellanova higher than most on the forum, that much is apparent. Most likely it would be similar to last season where Darmian starts the season playing the majority of the minutes and then Bellanova is slowly worked in.

In an ideal world Bellanova would be a back up and if he over performs everybody wins. However I’d rather risk Bellanova potentially being a starter than losing Skriniar and trusting this ownership to replace him with even half the player that’s leaving.

If those are the options, I agree of course. But Bellanova is raw, much much more rawer than Dumfries was year ago (obviously). I'd look for RWB signing in the case Dumfries is sold.

so, who would replace Dumfries? The season starts very soon. Anyone here actually believes these slowpokes can get a solid replacement?

If we can somehow sell Dumfries for 40 mln and Pinamonti for 20, and get udojie and Milenkovic, i'm all for it.

Lazaro and Bellanova for the right. Gosens, Darmian and DiMarco for the left, get a new cb to cover Bastoni instead of DiMarco.

Also i wouldn't mind a back 3 of Bastoni-Skriniar-Darmian

Yes, i would keep De Vrij as a starter, and if rotation then Darmian or D'ambro on the right and Skriniar on centre.

I don't get the idea of Dimarco as CB. He is short, and his best atributes are crossing/shoting, mainly an offensive player.

I would strongly advise against selling Dumfries unless it was a question of selling him or another more core player.

We need the continuity on the flanks and I have a good feeling we can at least get similar if not more transfer value for him next summer, especially if he has a good WC.

It's exactly like that. We need to generate funds and Dumfries is the best option for that if we don't want to sell core pieces and don't.

I'd also wait till January if not next June.
