Han, im not exactly 'comparing' them.

i know Sir Alex is a legend but his really stretched it in the past couple of years. Now what i meant by Mourinho is, if u tell somebody in 50 years time that Mourinho with Porto won the Uefa Cup with Porto, and then the treble with Porto and then straight away won the title in his first season in EPL. It sounds really amazing.

SFA is always on and off.

Jose: Gerrard's wrong decision

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho believes Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard may regret his decision to reject a move to the English Premier League champions.

Gerrard seemed set to join Chelsea, only to produce a stunning U-turn by pledging his future to Liverpool, but according to The Sun newspaper Mourinho says it was the wrong decision.

"Gerrard is a great player and we want an English core very much. But I think it is Gerrard's loss more than Chelsea's," the newspaper reports Mourinho as saying.

"Why? Because Chelsea have a good team with the conditions to improve and a club which will be one of the best in the world in a short period of time."

"So when he decides not to join this club, I think it will be a loss for him, for his career."

"He can say 'I was European champion at Liverpool'. But I can say to him in the next 10 years we will compare trophies at Chelsea and at Liverpool. And he will lose."

:dielaugh: :dielaugh: u tell em mate.

Well, I can select a golden period in Sir Alex era where he also won a lot in 3 years. A close one that came to mind is 98/99, 99/00, 00/01. He won the treble in 98/99 and won the Premisership 2 times in a row after that. Sure, it's not as amazing as Mourinho's 3 years but as good as I think Mourinho is, it remains to be seen if he will remain as victorious over the next 15 years or so.

Mourinho is a great coach no one can deny that. But it is still to early to compare him to Fergie. Fergie made Aberdeen (no one knows the club now) a great European team winning the European Cup and defeating the likes of Madrid, Porto and Bayern in the 80's. Scotland was and will always be known for the old firm clubs (Celtic and Rangers), and when Aberdeen came into the picture it was all because of Fergie. He absolutely won everything with them, and then took over the national team in the 1986 World Cup before heading to England to coach Man Utd.

It sounds pretty ignorant when people for example say, Wenger won the double in his first 'full' season while Fergie won his first trophy after 6 years. This is absolute crap, when Fergie took over Utd, it was all dark and I can flood this page with stories about the players and the coaches and how they used to live back then but thats not imporant to know. All the conditions were bad and Man Utd despite its legacy was just a normal team like Pompey nowadays.

Mourinho is way successful than his peers at a very young age, but to compare him to the Sir is just laughable. I for one admit that Mourinho is the best coach in the world as we speak but Sir Alex will always be in our hearts (Man Utd fans).

After all, he brought Cantona and if it wasnt for Cantona, I wouldnt be the guy I am today. ;)

ONE ALEX.

Thanks man. I missed ya a lot too. After all we share the love for Utd and Inter. :)

I must admit that over the past 10 months or so, I posted only a few times but believe me it wasnt up to me. I had lots of work and traveling to do, and hopefully I will be posting more.

Btw, I watched all the Utd pre-season matches and the team will have a new shape. We are going to play more like we did 12 years ago and more players will have free roles. Alan Smith rocks as a defnesive midfielder and we solved a big problem as we always miss Keano when he is injured. Rooney has it all and Saha is fresher than ever.

Mind my ignorance, but who is Kate?

Was that sarcastic? :p Seriously, I haven't been watching that much of Man Utd's pre-season but on one game, he really looks great there. He has the mentality to play there, it remains to be seen if he's tactically able to succeed in the long run.

And Sir Zaki, welcome back!:shades:

Finally, somebody to back me up on the fact that Smith is being trained as a midfielder! The preseason games ive seen he did look impressive there (if anybody wants highlights as proof, give me a shout)
Rossi was also looking pretty good.

Anyway, nobody can take away what SAF has achieved in his career. Saying Mourinho is better is just crazy talk, for all we know he could flop from now on, so when he's got the respect carried by SAF, the number of trophies, the 'sir' before his name.. etc etc.. then come here & say he's better, until he's achieved all that then maybe it's best to take a look outside of his ass & realise the truth

btw Marco, hey ;)

As much as I hate him, Alex Ferguson is one of the best coaches ever. He built a dynasty, can you say the same about Mourinho? He came into a ready-built team packed with superstars, and the team was doing good and rising under Ranieri.

Also, Alex Feguson is better as a human. He has achieved alot, but he is still relatively humble. The same can't be said about Mourinho. He already boasts about himself, God knows what he will do if he wins 5 EPL's and 2 CL titles with Chelsea.

Hey ya! Sorry for not knowing you, it is just that Ive been away for long periods and anyway hope you like this forum.

Rossi did pretty well too but I doubt he will feature much in the coming season as Saha is very fresh and so as both Ruud and Rooney. Put in mind also that we will play with 3 upfront in with Rooney and Ronaldo filling the wings, and both Saha and Giggsy ready to step for any of them. But for sure Rossi will get his chances in the FA and Carling games.

Smithy is great and the only way to get him out of the field is by shooting him!

Hey, speakin of Man Utd, Ole will be back! Hooray for that. Owen will almost certainly rot in Real Madrid or some other lower clubs. Take that you bloody ex Liverpudlian. His mistake in life was to join two of the worst clubs in the world :yuck: liverpool and real madrid. Anyway, what a scary prospect with Ruud + Saha + Ole + Rooney all back. Smithy has the temper of Keano and the charm of Brad pitt  . I wouldnt mind if he went in two footed against me, I love that boy! He's Man Utd's Stevie Gerrard, only better looking and much more skillful ;)

Hooray for Ole. You are my Solskjaer, my only Solskjaer, you make me happy when times are bad. You just keep scoring, when it gets boring, Please don't take my Solskjaer away :dielaugh: :dielaugh:

Great news for everybody living in Canada, The Score will be showing EPL games every sunday. We will get to see all the big EPL matches this year. Sportsnet only shows the games saturday and alot of big games like Arsenal vs. Man U or Chelsea vs. Man U are on sundays and sportsnet did not show them but we will get to see these big matches on the Score.

My first instinct was Horror Horror :scared: :scared: But then I stuck to reading the rest of the post and I loved it. I simply love watching ManU vs. Arsenal, it's a great rivalry, too bad one of the main protaginsts in Vieira is out! It's nice anyways to see the big games on time.

Even if Keane vs Vieira is dead, I am looking foward for a new one. My nomination is Persie vs. Smith (if Smith plays CM)!

I was hoping they'd show more La Liga games though, we only get few La Liga games here.

Thanks for that Roberto, we should be updating each other with the news. All soccer fans are like a family in a strage land in Canada :)

I'd rather see more La Liga as well but the more footy the better. If my calculations are right the football coverage in this country isn't so bad after all:

Serie A - Four games/weekend, plus CL games featuring Italian teams.
EPL - Three games on Saturday, one on Sunday
La Liga - One on Saturday, one on Sunday (not so sure this year?)
CL games - Two games every matchday (Wish we had more....)

I think I've seen Ligue 1 action a couple times as well. I didn't include Fox Sports World Canada as I don't have that channel. Seen German, French and South American (mostly Brazil's and Argentina's leagues) on a preview though.
