Lobotka, kind of? Idk man, I would almost say you would need to go for a different type of player. Top level regista are tough to find in modern game. You may be better of getting a DM.

Best countries for producing those are Brazil and Spain. I’d start there.

Maybe Zielinski. I hate the idea that Hakan is leaving, but Zielnski fills the gap. And I don’t believe 70 mil deal for 30 year old. More like 40-45.

I don't really mind if we sell him.

From my perspective, Inter didn't acquire him because of his performances, in a sense we didn't get out of our way to buy him from Milan. They got him primarily because it made financial sense; he was a free transfer, if he wasn't a free player, he would never come to Inter. We already had a solid midfield, and while Calha was a good addition, he wasn't essential.

The plan was never to buy him, retrain his position and in the meantime find buyers for Brozo. He just happened to be good enough to adapt in a completely new much different role, under the way Inzaghi intended for Inter to play.

I might sound ungrateful, but while I appreciated Calha's time here and he was undoubtedly one of the key players in our title run, Inzaghi's system enhances the players more than the players enhance his system.

Back then who would've thought that Calha would turn out better in Brozos position for the system we play? Except some guys who would say that after 1 game while Brozo was injured they saw everything what was going to be from Calha, nobody in his right mind saw that coming.

Players adapt, systems adapt.

We'll be fine. We might get more physical without Calha though, more yellows, and potentially red cards.

Realistically anything above 40 millions is fine. But in this market he is worth much more, I just doubt we can get more, especially if he wants to go there too.

i remember this. Any season Bayern didn't win Bundesliga, after that, suddenly that next season, bayern would like to spent crazy even crazier than Real Madrid just to win Bundesliga again.
If Fulham and Palhinha keep rejecting all Bayern's offers for him, I can see they would like to throw 45M, all Palhinha money, just to sign Calhanoglu at all cost.

I don't like these rumors. This feels like Lukaku situation in club's perspective that we end up selling player way too late and are unprepared for the replacements.

Atm it doesn't feel like Calhanoglu has been pushing anything regarding this one. But if the rumors won't die, to me it speaks that the club is willing for the sale on a decent price. Don't believe in 70m offer, that's the number Inter leaks to the media what we ask to get an adequate offer since even they don't believe they'll get 70m.

And if the club is willing, it needs to mean they have a plan for the situation. Because if we lose Calhanoglu, we are decreasing the quality of the squad a lot. He's a central piece of Inzaghi's game and I wouldn't be surprised Inzaghi is super pissed if he loses Calhanoglu after a season like that.

CC, latest reports are that the agent has met twice with Bayern in the recent weeks. So it's Hakan who is pushing for this move, not Inter. I would understand him to be honest - he has won everything in Italy now.

If the number is close to 70 millions, Hakan is gone.

Inter signed Hakan because Eriksen almost died on the pitch and he couldn't play in Serie A anymore. We badly needed a creative midfielder, there was no money and Hakan was free. There was a gap in midfield with Eriksen loss and Hakan covered it. He became a definite starter for Inter.

Then we changed his position because Brozovic got injured and Inzaghi didn't trust Asllani to start games. A gamble that paid off. Before that, Hakan was still starting games for Inter as LCM.

It's basically what @Kramerica Industries said earlier on the thread. If someone is born and raised in Germany it's hard to say no to Bayern.

If he rejected Saudi money, he will reject Bayern's 8M or whatever it is. Hakan is loved at Inter and the love is mutual. I think he wouldn't want to trade this for the opportunity with Bayern.

Thars an extreme that doesn't necessarily make sense. At Bayern you're still at one of Europe's top clubs. Going to Saudi or the US is basically admitting defeat on your career. Realistically at Bayern he has more chance of winning the CL than at Inter.

Unless someone is like Daniel Maldini, who will reject us even Milan doesn’t want him anymore (still not 100%), I can understand.

For Hakan, he might not push hard for the move, fine with staying, he would go to Bayern if there’s opportunity and increasing his income. It’s still a job with short time career.

as said here, I am also pretty sure that if Hakan got an offer from Bayern, he would wanna go... Won everything in Italy, so why not go to Bayern. Seems like a good move for him... Now, Inter, i don't think wants him to leave, as they would be losing an important piece, thats hard to replace... I am also kinda 50/50 on this. A bunch of money seems nice, but finding a replacement seems hard.

Eriksen wasn't a key player for us, no matter how much we all wished he were.

We didn't lose a crucial player, so when Calhanoglu came in, he filled a gap that wasn't as critical as some might think after Eriksen left.

I feel like we're starting a debate that neither of us intended to :D

I was just saying that we brought Calha in because he was free. If he hadn't been free, he wouldn't be our player. If Calhanoglu had cost even 10 million back then, he wouldn't be our player.

The same Marotta strategy applies to Zielinski and Taremi now. It's not just because Sanchez and Arnautovic underperformed; it's mainly because Taremi is free.
