If he rejected Saudi money, he will reject Bayern's 8M or whatever it is. Hakan is loved at Inter and the love is mutual. I think he wouldn't want to trade this for the opportunity with Bayern.
I can see him accept Bayern as a challenge and a chance to lift Bundesliga title in addition to his serial A one.
About the transfer fee. No way to get more than 45mln, considering the relationship between the clubs and how ended Pavard's transfer last summer. But, this will happen only if Hakan asks for a move.
The obvious replacement is Amrabat - cheap, not so quality but experienced. Not my favorite as a starter, but for me he is the most probable option.

In his first seasson at Inter, before his position change, Hakan had 7 goals and 13 assists in 34 league games. Saying he wasn't essential is simply wrong.

A bunch of money seems nice, but finding a replacement seems hard.
It will be impossible to find a carbon copy replacement. We would have to buy a different type of dm and hope for the best, aka hope that inzaghi cooks something up and properly adjust, coz that will be the key given the importance of that position.

CC, latest reports are that the agent has met twice with Bayern in the recent weeks. So it's Hakan who is pushing for this move, not Inter. I would understand him to be honest - he has won everything in Italy now.

If the number is close to 70 millions, Hakan is gone.
I don't think it's Hakan pushing anything. Everywhere its's said he doesn't want to move anywhere so it's the agent doing his job ie. looking for better contract for his client. I'm sure next comes agent asking an extension and small payraise.

BUT. BUT. The similarity might be the player wanting the better deal. That's what happened with Lukaku and we didn't want to give him the new deal. I just don't see Hakan insisting on getting a new deal but the agent might play a key part here. I guess a lot depends on the deal on our table from Bayern. The offer will most probably arrive anyway.

This is actually pretty fucken delicate situation because we haven't extended Inzaghi yet. He wants contract till 2027, we offer 2026 (for some reason). If we take Calhanoglu from him, management needs to play this very well not to fuck up everything.

There's been talk of a cycle and it's hard to do cycles if we keep getting stripped of our key players every summer. :D

Hakan isn’t a loyal player, like most players he is just a mercenary. In other words Hakan will go to the destination where it benefits him the most in terms of ambition/glory and income.

Changing from Milan to Inter really showed what he is…

If he go to Bayern it’s because he wants to win the CL and the Bundesliga, the first is likely the biggest reason. Getting a higher wage I personally think is secondary and it can’t stand alone as he still has ambitions on the pitch, if he had no ambition and where only into money he would have left for the Saudi league.

You can not compare some saudi club with bayern, at bayern he still fight for honours and he play at one of the most prestigious club in Europe, that is very often a candidate for the CL crown. Obviously he would not say no to that especially when he was born in Germany.

I can definitely understand it and I would never blame him if he left, Inter is not the biggest address out there so if you have ambitions it’s understandable you might not want to stay here.

You should and can not blame a player for having ambitions… you can blame them for being greedy money grabbers…

He's a professional footballer. It's not like he was a Milan fan growing up. Milan decided not to extend him. It's not like they wanted to extend him, he kept promising he would, then he did a surprise bosman to Inter.

Not a single fucking person here has a clue what his motivations are. He could be really happy at Inter and not at all interested in risking a place where he's happy. He could be homesick and keen to move home. He could be keen for a big shot at the CL. He could be keen to stay at Inter for the remainder of the cycle.

Not a single person here has any fucking clue and people need to stop pretending they do.

Biasin: Bayern Munich's first offer for Hakan Calhanoglu will arrive soon.

It's heating up, let's see who the journalists pull out as potential replacements. My bet is on ederson.

Milan offered a contract extension before that, a contract he refused as he had put forward a request for a pay rise something Milan wasn’t interested in granting him. Those he became a free agent.

The reason they did not want to extend him was simply because of wage demands and evaluation… If he was such a loyal player well he probably would have swallowed it, he didn’t. It’s of cause in his good right to do so and not live on pennies but it dos show he goes where his demands are met.

Also he said multiple times he has ambitions and like challenges, so I think it’s easy to conclude that ambition plays a rather large role in his decisions.

A player born in Germany that decided to play for Turkey doesn’t exactly strike me as the homesick type.

If he was so keen to stay he would have killed it by now… the rumour would not be dragging on for well over a month, if his agent is still hang around Bayern managers it’s because he is interested, it would be pointless to do so if the player completely refused that idea.

Do you apply the same logic to lautaro and barella who are asking some of the highest contracts inter have ever paid?

Playing for turkey is irrelevant to feeling homesick, he may have decided his international prospects were better there than for the German team which is perfectly valid

For me, it looked like he was feeling like at home at Inter. I bet once the Euro is over he will express his resentment towards the media and he will clearly state he wants to stay with us. But we will see...

Bayern is in the same level as Inter right now, if he leaves is because of the money only. Only City/Madrid are an upgrade over Inter.
He is essential but pretty sure Marotta can get a better replacement if this goes ahead.

So what is he? He left Milan because he felt he wasn't valued there. Fans hated him. Why would he stay there? Inter didn't offer much more than what Milan did, correct me if I'm wrong. If he opts for Bayern, I assume it's because he will find out he is being frozen out.

Bayern's offer if it ever comes in will be between 40-50M€ . Gazetta wrote we want 70M€ just like I imagined. If agents are already talking with one of the biggest teams in the world you let your Gazetta keyboard buddies out with the maximum value demand stories. 70M€ ! But the gap is way too big here. We have a good relations and they gave us Pavard after long negotiation meetings. I feel we might give in and agree 50-55M€ with bonuses which is honestly not ideal , but its a pure plusvalenza.

But do we want our books healthy and leave the titles to Rube , who is strengthening at a very good pace with excellent signings under Giuntoli. If they get Koop and Calafiori + Thuram they will be huge threat to us. Even more than Milan. Motta will cook!

So this is a bad spot. We tend to give in with 50M€ + offers , but it had to be next summer when Zielinski can easily play Hakan role without any worry.

Personally I'd rather not go bankrupt. Shorter term pain to avoid long term pain is acceptable

This way of thinking will get you to feel resentment towards players in no time. You are making him, at least in your mind, attached to the shirt beyond the money, and it's simply not the case. All of our players are ruthless professionals, and they are willing to leave if certain requirements are met.

The only way they should be shamed and ridiculed is if they do a lukaku where they straight up lie or deceive the fans. Hakan always spoke nice about inter, but I don't think he ever set himself in a trap where him leaving would feel like a betrayal and deceitful behavior like lukaku.

Behaviour like lukaku and skeiniar leaves a sour taste in the mouth. If hakan left now it'd perfectly fine

Just so that he can shoot penalties :D

Poor Asllani, I can understand not playing now, but watching slowass Jorginho playing instead of him would surely hurt
