Having kept Hakimi and Lukaku we could have won this quite easily. I dont know why Suning insit on keep owning Inter if they cannot afford it.
Are you sure there are better options out there willing to buy Inter right now and invest money?

Cause I'm not so sure about that.

It could be even worse, much worse and I think some are not quite aware of that.

And by saying this I'm not defending Suning at all.

Random PL games? They’re fighting to try and win the most challenging league in the world
Lol, yes it is very challenging to play against Burnley, Crystal Palace, Wolves and Leicester.

What about al these fixtures exactly makes it more challenging?

I love how you're diverting the discussion to your opinion when the original comment was how Inter was treated before and after the game... But anyway, I'll play along.

and they can’t afford to drop anymore points. This is where I wish you actually watched other leagues so we could have a proper discussion

Whereas I wish you actually watched any football outside of the PL so that you wouldn't sound like a complete knob each time....

You realize that you picked some random games out of this 1.5 month spell you decided (as if we're in the form of our lives) just to say a bunch of nothing?

Since the turn of the year (ie. 1.5 months since we are in the 16th/dawning 17th of the 2nd month) they played Chelsea away, Shrewsbury at home for the cup, Arsenal twice in a mickey mouse cup, Brentford home, Crystal Palace away, Cardiff at home for the cup, Leicester at home and Burnley away.

We played: Lazio at home, Juventus at home for the Supercoppa (120 minutes), Atalanta away, Empoli for the cup at home, Venezia at home, Milan, Roma for the cup at home and Napoli away.

Against Chelsea they were without Alisson, Robertson and Milner had his 6th start of the season.
Against Shrewsbury they only used 3-4 starters.
They used mostly starters against Arsenal the first time. Was a one sided affair where they couldn't unlock a defense and Minamino missed two open goal shots, including a last second completely free goal.
Were without Salah and Mane against Brentford.
Some slight rotation against Arsenal in the 2nd semi.
Mostly starters vs Crystal Palace.
Some rotation vs Cardiff.
Mostly starters vs Leicester, still without Salah and Mane.
First time they played their starters in months against Burnley.

Apparently this is a good enough sample for you to say whatever it is you're trying to say. Who cares if they can or cannot afford to lose any points? What kind of language is that anyway? Who can afford to lose points? They were playing against minnows and they treated those games as such.

In the meantime, Inter played all those high intensity, high pressure games with virtually no rotation apart from the Empoli game. We could not afford to rotate. They could. They even missed two of their most important players during this stretch.

Liverpool is good but let's not act like theyre amazing or something like that..i think this game could have ended easily 2-2 or even 3-2 if we had good strikers. As team we are good, the way we controlled the game till the goal was excelllent, this is why we are stll the best team in italy, this team has balls, simply. Liverpool has more experience then us in the CL and they also have quality upfront and a better bench compared to ours, that's all. They will not win the CL, maybe not even reach the final.

I anyway just hope that we are getting a good striker in the summer. Not some "half solution" or something like that, someone who really can make the diffrence. And 2-3 decent bench players. Then we could be on the same level as many top clubs, maybe only 2-3 are still better (Bayern, City...)

Pressed the hell of out them with less overall possession and 0 shots on target. Great tactics indeed. Time to realise you cant use the same approach against liverpool as against Salarnitana perhaps?
Lol, you literally said that Italian football is outdated and this is why we lost yet you slated our approach vs Salernitana where we scored 5 goals, suggesting we should do what exactly instead?

You don't make sense at all.

You should ask people who are surrounded by English media and watched this game from BT Sport rather than pretend you're the ambassador.

The main point of discussion was how Inter played like they expected Liverpool to play and how difficult the game was for Liverpool despite their expectations of a relatively easy night.
Even Klopp and Van Dijk were asked those silly questions.

Well, I live in England, watched the game from BT sport and am pretty familiar with the media in this country. Yes, they are surprised Inter put up a fight, just like Burnley did a few days ago. So I don't get your point. The BT guys you are referring to literally mentioned a few times that Liverpool's reserves beat Milan quite easily, and that Milan just beat Inter. Most people here believe the quality gap between the two teams is bigger than even what I was talking about above. So no, I seriously doubt Klopp & Co will "remember this game for a long time", just like I doubt they will remember the Burnley game. The only thing they might remember is the atmosphere at San Siro, that is still a legendary stadium.

Liverpool won 2-0 away even when they played poorly, and didn't even concede a single shot on target. On the other hand, Inter have won 1 game out of 10 against decent teams this season. Thats the reality.

We also struggle against all top teams now, not just in Europe. In the 2nd half of last season when Conte's team finally found its rhythm, we regularly beat top teams in Italy. Then we sold some of our best players in Hakimi and Lukaku without replacing them with quality. We took a step backwards instead of forwards, and it shows - in 10 games against top teams this season (Real, Liverpool, Milan, Juve, Napoli, Atalanta) we won 1. Just 1 out of 10.
That was second season of Conte here. 2nd half of second season.

Not so sure why are we often comparing his second season and first season of Inzaghi here.

And we won against Juventus,Milan x2 and Atalanta plus draw with Napoli and two losses and a draw against Juventus. More wins for sure but not exactly world beaters. 4/8.

In first half of the season we won only against Napoli and Gladbach.Milan,Atalanta,Šahtar x2,Gladbach,Real...4 points combined. With Hakimi and Lukaku.

The games I picked were the last 5 away Premier League matches ( purposely excluded the Mickey Mouse cup matches that you decided to include for some reason )

Stop living in the last and thinking this is 15 years ago still. Premier League has left Serie A and all the other leagues in the dust and it’s obvious with the amount of money they’ve spent.

You’re wanting the English media to give us credit and why the fuck should they? Whichever way you spin it, fact of the matter is we couldn’t muster a single shot on target at home. Liverpool’s last 5 premier league away games were tougher games than the one they played today or at least on par. That’s the unfortunate fact

Just looked at an ESPN web page mentioning players ratings for Inter vs Liverpool match. Surprise only mentioned the Liverpool side! ESPN should stick with what they know: mock drafts for NFL, Monster truck races and tedious 48 hr commentary on last weeks games. God almighty the egocentric jingoism associated with that dingbat network is truly beyond the pale.

I want to dedicate a post to credit Van Dijk for his masterful performance. He is without a doubt the best defender right now and what a complete defender he is. He thwarted our attack after attack without breaking sweat. And although he is a beast in physicality, he rarely uses it and he relies on his game sense and leadership to defend. No wonder he was bought for 84.5 million and he won UEFA player of the year award in 2019. As long as we have 36 years old Dzeko and out-of-form Lautaro, we won't ever breach Liverpool's defence.

If Suning has money we would have today Lukaku,Hakimi,Hakan plus Scamaca,Fratessi,SMS,even Vlahović maybe. What good they did, they did,and that was when they had fkn money. Now they dont have money,Marotta cant buy us Scamacca this winter mercato, why?Cause they have no money. We cant even bring fkn Nandez lol...Our depth is shit cause of that. 45 miliona a year is shit if you want beat fkn Liverpool.Shite.
One fucking Luis Diaz bought by Liverpool £45M last winter.... (€45M amortization a year still small for big team like Inter)

Our issue is money. We need Suning backing us more money. SUNING MUST INVEST! DONT HIDE CHINESE BITCH! FUCK SUNING AND WHOLE CHINA NATION! FUCK THEM SHATTER INTO THE PIECES!

I'm not mad with the result. A little disappointed but it's not what I didn't expect. We lack quality and depth on several positions and that showed on numerous occasions.

Our players work hard but they lack that certain keen eye when it's the most needed. Just look at how many poor decisions they made which ruined our chances or led to Liverpool's goals. Liverpool had enough quality and depth to make 4 subs in the second half, while the best we could do was a 33 years old Alexis Sanchez for two misfiring strikers.

Well then, we can focus on Serie A now. But we have work to do in summer.

Why wouldn't our players shoot when they had the chances? Especially that motherfucker Dzeko. How many times he managed to find himself in a decent shooting position, only for him to fuck it all up by squaring a weak ass pass that would never ever going to reach a teammate? I remember that happening at least twice in the match and it's simply infuriating. In a tight European clash against probably the best team in the world right now, you have to take whatever chances you are presented with in sight. Lautaro understood this and tried, but of course he was never going to test Alisson because his techniques sucked. Hakan was unlucky though. Fucking crossbar.

the comments that we need two or three class players to fight against Liverpool or Real Madrid teams are naive, because we won't be any better in the near future. Spring of 2021 was our peak, now we are going downhill.
Our main targets are Bremer, Scamacca and Frattesi. I like all of them, but they are good reinforcements for Serie A only. Adding to that Onana, healthy Gosens & Correa and no departures of key players like Perisić or Brozović would create great team, but still only for Serie A - and we are talking about perfect scenario where we extend all the contract, we don't need to sell anyone and we buy our targets, not the options B, C, D etc.

Sad that it has come to this, some fans are happy that for 15-20 minutes of 2nd half Inter showed that we can "compete" against Liverpool. Last weekend, Burnley also showed they could compete against Liverpool, perhaps a bit more than Inter did tonight. This is loser talk.

To me, this game showed the gulf between top teams and Inter. We are not even close. Just the fact that Klopp thought he could give a 18 yr old his debut at San Siro showed that gulf. And the kind of players they could bring in when they needed to push for goals, compared to shit we had sitting on the bench. Please don't delude yourself, we are not even close to competing with the likes of Liverpool.

Fuck Suning! If they cannot invest in Inter or at least match Agnelli's commitment to Juve, they should get the fuck out. They risk destroying whatever they built over the last 4 years.

Amen. Can't hear that bullshit anymore. We can compete against Liverpool. We can compete against Real. We can compete against Barcelona. But we can't win.

It's also funny how many times I read from certain users how shit EPL football is. Well, maybe ... But then: How shit is Serie A football when better players are enough for an English team to beat an Italian everytime?
