Just because Lakaka told Steven in that Inter short vid on Insta, that Asllani is mature and thinks like a 27 years old... doesn't mean we should expect wonders from him.

He is an ok sub. At the moment he is behind the rest of our midfielders. Nothing tragic. Just reality.

Reminds me of Andrea Poli...

Classic FIF.

Out of all threads bash the youngster who had his first start for the toughest chl game in groip stage.

Limone had chance to give him minutes in sso many other games.

The early yellow didn’t help. And Sociedad were pressing hard the entire game. He was not good but then again, almost no Inter player was. Barella was fucking shocking

I’d still start him against Empoli.

No one’s bashing him. He’s hardly played and it’s understandable that he’s not playing well.

Nevertheless, it’s a massive worry if we have to rely on him if Hakan is ever injured for long periods or during important fixtures.

He either needs to rapidly improve or we have consider trying someone else as a replacement for Hakan.

There’s little point discussing Bastoni or Barella, because we know they can perform at the level we need.

I don't think it's fair to judge him in a situation like this. Nothing worked according to plan, so it's unfair to expect an inexperienced player like Asllani to set the world on fire, while our veterans were arguably even worse. I would start him against Empoli as well, that match is gonna be a indicator whether Asllani should remain as Hakan's replacement or we should look for other solution in case of Hakan's long-term absence.

Ehh. Unfortunately he’s lacking in games like this. We should have probably gone for a slightly more ready profile to be vice-Calha. Asllani needs to go out on loan. Maybe we can make the Maxime Lopez move happen in January?

Let's just face the fact that he's not a 3-5-2 player at the moment and definitely not cut to be a regista.

I wouldn't place him over Barella, Frattesi, Mkhtaryan or a mythical fit Sensi in the pecking order and I assume that Klaasen would be getting more box-to-box or mezzala minutes than him.

We need a regista to cover for Hakan, it was obvious from the moment we let Brozovic go.

Asllani needs to be loaned to Genoa or Frosinone or Lecce or Sassuolo or someone in Serie A where he'll get minutes with some tension and pressure to perform. That's the test for him. Hopefully for a team that plays 3-5-2 as well, because we can all tell that he has the tools to be a DLP in a 4-2-3-1, which is much different from a regista role.

His position is one of hardest on midfield. I think Sensi or Klaasen better than him. He still need more playing time to adjust. He eat bench too much .

This is not a criticism against Asllani but if Inzaghi doesn't trust him then the only alternative is Agoume. Honestly why the fuck not. I say do it.

Play Mikhi in Hakan role, he switched with Hakan during matches in few games last season and was good. Asllani should play in Coppa in first rounds and when we play home against bottom teams. If he makes it then great, if not he is not just good for us then.

I just don't think it's a healthy progress of his talents to start him once in X amount of matches and ignore him the rest, or give him minutes once everything is settled, either by us winning or losing the game.

Start against Sociedad was a mistake. Too much pressure on him, and he has yet to earn his teammates trust in a sense that they will look for him whenever they have the ball and try to get rid of it.

It's not bashing him, it's a fair critic. He is 21 lol.

Barella was worse against Sociedad. Again, not a bashing, just a reality.

I see no problems whatsoever with both Inzaghi's decision to start Asllani and his performance. If Inzaghi wants to do this again, I'm all for it.

It's giving young players a chance right before your eyes. It's also the growing pain of developing players that you guys have always been so loud about being willing to endure. You guys also wanted to spend some tens of millions on Orban or Balogun right? You'd have got more of the same kind of performance from said players. You don't like it? Fuck you and shut your mouth the next time Inzaghi opts for a more experienced option.

But but but Asllani is not talented enough you may say. Fuck you again, Lautaro, Brozovic and many more were not talented enough until they were, that's how it works.

Based on a match where entire team fell apart and had one total attempt on goal for the first 80 minutes?
This forum continually complains about not developing talent but when it's time to develop the talent you (plural) are the first to bring the noose.

That's what developing means, allowing for mistakes and letting the player learn from experience. Otherwise it would be called "hitting the ground running" instead of "developing".

Exactly. If Asllani turns out to be a flop after 10 games, that's fine. We'll move on. But we can't bench a young player forever (or loan them away season after season), AND THEN moan about signing 34+ free agents.

I would start him vs Empoli again if Hakan is not recovered. He needs an experience. He is afraid to make a mistake.

You're mixing up mistakes and just not belonging there.

Bastoni made a mistake.
Asllani should have no place in that role in the CL opener against the toughest team of the group.

This was a player the coach wanted to loan out because he wanted a more suitable backup for the regista role, player rejected moves to leave and now has to play. It's up the player to step up. He looks way out of place for the time being.

Sure, let's see how we can develop him by playing more, but starting last night was a bad decision. He should only play with the rest of the full team and not in heavily rotated teams. And against the weak teams of the league. Preferably home games, too.

This is the only logical explanation for why Agoume refused a loan move. Maybe he could see the future.
