based on what i've seen, I'm glad that united will buy him for silly money and we'll still have to spend elsewhere.
On what, more Palacio's and more Gaby's?

lets face it, united paid millions for anderson and look at him now, we all know the deal with brazilian youngsters, some turn out to be great............the rest tend to seriously flop!!
Name one country that produces players that this doesn't happen to and I'll give you a potato..

the likelihood is that he'll be another over hyped youngster.
With such an amazing understanding of the future how are you not a registered psychic? Or are you going to tell you next you're using probabilities? To which I immediately respond, that the likelihood his that he will become the Balon D'or winner in a few years..

Like i'd rather we took that money at threw it at porto for hulk (douglas costa or willian at shakhtar) or someone who is ready to start for us.
Okay.. I'd rather us throw it at Barcelona for Messi (Ozil or Cristiano Ronaldo at Madrid)..

Coutinho is a better investment in that he has been with us for longer, adapted to europe, serie a and Inter.
This was the only reason I bothered to even reply to your post.. tbh

How exactly is Phillipe adapted to one of Europe, Serie A or Inter? He's not even a guaranteed starter next season... Or are you one of those who are having orgasms because he is performing well against Serie C level teams?

we could prob buy van persie for that kind of money too..................what about afellay?
Or why not 6,000 porn stars for every single member here on FIF?

clearly there are so many better options for that money!!!!!
Clearly, if they were options we would be chasing them and not him..

So, Moratti sends Branca to Brazil to negotiate the deal.

Let's assume that there was some way for them to communicate. It's the 21st century so I guess it was possible.

Branca returns and they still need to hold another meeting?:eek:kay:

It's seriously makes zero sense. As I said two days ago....I'm not getting excited. Don't have an idea what's going on but I'm 99% sure we are not getting this guy.

I don't understand why Branca needs to go back to Milan to speak to MM unless Branca cares more about racking up his frequent flyer miles than he does about signing Lucus, or MM feels he's too rich to talk on skype.

Either way, I'm sick of Inter missing out on players due to lack of urgency.

I'm just wondering why Branca and Moratti don't own cellphones, or even telephones for that matter :einstein:

I would have thought that it's negotiating 101 to keep as many lines of communication open as possible so either Branca or Ausilio should be in Brazil until the deal is done.

I was referring to the "huge meeting" that is apparently going to take place between Moratti and Branca, thus allowing Branca to stay in Brazil to allow for your "negotiating 101" to remain intact.

I'm aware of that, hence my post above yours.

I don't really want to bash our management like many do around here, but sometimes they do seem incredibly short sighted and stupid. I really hope we wont have wasted so much of our time and resources on this deal to have nothing come to fruition.

I am convinced that Branca was just in Brazil for vacation and not to negotiate a deal for Lucas. I think this is a ploy by Branca and Moratti at this point. They don't want to spend the money because they know the amount is too high and stupid to begin with for an unproven young player who has never left Brazilian league to play in another league. Yet at the same time they don't want to upset the fan base that they didn't try and reinforce the team by signing an up and coming potential super star. We will probably get two good decent players one in attack and one in midfield both together cheaper than Lucas and Säo Paulo price.

On what, more Palacio's and more Gaby's?

Did either of these players cost €25m+??

Name one country that produces players that this doesn't happen to and I'll give you a potato..

Canada doesn't produce over hyped multi million euro players does it? Potato please!!!

In the last 5 years, if not longer i can count on 1 hand the brazilian players that have been successful at their first european club.

With such an amazing understanding of the future how are you not a registered psychic? Or are you going to tell you next you're using probabilities? To which I immediately respond, that the likelihood his that he will become the Balon D'or winner in a few years..

probability is a wonderful thing when you understand it........... Brazil and Argentina for that matter use the media to support and increase player values, we all know that. European clubs get suckered into to spending millions on players because of a few youtube videos and watching them play against crap opposition in the state championships......Keirrison cough cough. I think to a certain degree, Ricky Alvarez is another of these bad buys!!!

Okay.. I'd rather us throw it at Barcelona for Messi (Ozil or Cristiano Ronaldo at Madrid)..

Wouldn't we all but i'm trying to be relatively realistic. When Man City pay around £24m for David Silva and Real pay around €15m for Ozil, i personally feel that €25+ for Lucas is too much and would be better spent on a PROVEN player.

This was the only reason I bothered to even reply to your post.. tbh

How exactly is Phillipe adapted to one of Europe, Serie A or Inter? He's not even a guaranteed starter next season... Or are you one of those who are having orgasms because he is performing well against Serie C level teams?

Coutinho is in his 3rd year in europe. (hopefully) his 2nd full season at inter. He speaks at least basic italian. He has had a full preseason with Strama and clearly understands what is expected of him. He won't cost us a transfer fee.

I'm not say Cou is a guaranteed starter but neither is Lucas, therefore Cou is a better player for the manager to support and focus on in terms of an investment.

Or why not 6,000 porn stars for every single member here on FIF?

RVP will cost around €30m from Arsenal due to his contractual issues. I'd rather read that we've made an offer for him, even if it gets rejected over this stuff about Lucas. Afellay is available on the cheap as he is a back up back up at barca.........

Clearly, if they were options we would be chasing them and not him..

You make my argument for me with your first point about Palacio and Gaby. and for that matter, lots of signings over the past 10 years. Just because OUR management try to sign them, it doesn't make them the best option.

Nyall, i must say, i think you're a dick head.

About the summit, I think Moratti already knows everything about Lucas, he just needs time to make a decision.

No they did not...

Canada doesn't produce over hyped multi million euro players does it? Potato please!!!
Canad is not known for or even expected to produce football players, is it? So too bad, no potato for you.

In the last 5 years, if not longer i can count on 1 hand the brazilian players that have been successful at their first european club.
If every single Brazilian prospect turned out to be a star, then there would be no stars.. (everyone would be average) We could sign any player from anywhere, fuck we could sign Messi, and he could flop for us.. but wouldn't you rather us showing ambition and playing the game of 50/50 in hopes of hitting the jackpot or playing it safe and getting three Alvarez's?

EDIT: I used Alvarez before I saw you used it.

probability is a wonderful thing when you understand it........... Brazil and Argentina for that matter use the media to support and increase player values,
Umm, welcome to the information era..

European clubs get suckered into to spending millions on players because of a few youtube videos
You really think clubs would invest millions based on YouTube videos?

watching them play against crap opposition in the state championships......Keirrison cough cough. I think to a certain degree, Ricky Alvarez is another of these bad buys!!!
How else should clubs acquire talent from South America then?

Wouldn't we all but i'm trying to be relatively realistic. When Man City pay around £24m for David Silva and Real pay around €15m for Ozil, i personally feel that €25+ for Lucas is too much and would be better spent on a PROVEN player.
Don't forget us signing Sneijder for an amazing deal too... we should do that agai- oh wait that was a rare deal that only occurred due to circumstance...

The market is inflated as fuck now, especially with idiotic Englishmen spending enormous sums on terrible English players (see Andy Carroll).. the market is so inflated right now that any club with a kid who can kick a ball asks for a leg and a foot for him.. 25 or 27 + bonus or 32 isn't that much now a days... and Inter IMO, need a big name just for ambitions sake, especially after the disgraces that were our last 4 mercatos.

Coutinho is in his 3rd year in europe.
So..? That makes him European proven even though he's started in less than a tenth of all possible games and played in less than a third?

(hopefully) his 2nd full season at inter.
You can't even say that with certainty, so how does that make him Inter proven?

He speaks at least basic italian. He has had a full preseason with Strama and clearly understands what is expected of him.
Oh really? You know all this for a fact? Did he tell you all this because you have him as one of your favorite players?

He won't cost us a transfer fee.
Ever thought that maybe, just maybe, if we were so high on Coutinho as you are, we wouldn't be after Lucas?

I'm not say Cou is a guaranteed starter but neither is Lucas,
You really don't think that if Lucas were to join, our coaching staff wouldn't do everything to integrate him to our starting line up ASAP? Lucas isn't coming to Italy to sit on our bench..

therefore Cou is a better player for the manager to support and focus on in terms of an investment.
Still trying to understand how the fuck you managed to derive this conclusion from the premise you previously wrote..

RVP will cost around €30m from Arsenal due to his contractual issues. I'd rather read that we've made an offer for him, even if it gets rejected over this stuff about Lucas.
Please, and I beg of you, please explain to me, why you or anyone of the AMBITIOUS Inter fans here even care what you would rather read? We didn't go after Lavezzi for that price, why would we go after RVP? Who has even less of a future and is clearly looking for a fat paycheck and some silverware on the side, ala City..

Afellay is available on the cheap as he is a back up back up at barca.........
So..

You make my argument for me with your first point about Palacio and Gaby. and for that matter, lots of signings over the past 10 years. Just because OUR management try to sign them, it doesn't make them the best option.
And just because you have a strange obession with Robin van Persie and Ibrahim Affelay doesn't make them the best option either..

Nyall, i must say, i think you've got a big dick

The only other player rumour threads I can think of that made it to this size are Tevez, Sanchez, and Quaresma's. Which is probably a bad omen.

We have no budget left to afford a phone for Branca. So he must come all the way back to Milan to update Moratti.

Lol at you guys who think we can't move until Marco is back in Milan. Media is clearly buying themselves time.

lol, according to 'the daily mail' he is gonna have his medical with man utd tomorrow. im calling bs on this one :einstein: :trollol:

i dont get it though, why go for another winger if you could spend that money on a beast of a midfielder or a new striker. our current main striker is 34 years old for crying out loud. and our midfield would be inexistant if it wasnt for guarin...

anyways, if he comes we are gonna have to sell someone, it will be either alvarez or sneijder imo. hm maybe its for the best if we offload sneijder now tbh. there is no better time to get some money out of him then this summer. we will still have plenty of am's anyway with bessa, alvarez, coutinho, lucas...

Exactly. Sky and co. already jumped the gun on the report, so now they're gasping for air trying to keep some credibility.
