Kessie is joke, but Barca is brooke, they can only do swaps. They will eat shit and take Correa for Depay, and then Inter will do same thing getting Kessie for Brozovic.

Kessie is not playing more then 10minutes there, Depay is not playing a single minute in long time.

Brozovic is miles better player then Kessie, he runned 17km in WC game, he is machine.

Overall good swap for both teams, getting players that you need and trading them with players that you don't value.

Don't have one.
I don't know what to think about this potential swap, tbh. Both players have weaknesses and strengths that would be highly complementary if they played in the same team. I'm fairly certain with kessie our midfield would be more balanced, on the other hand without brozo we would lose technical ability, but I don't think that would hurt us much given the other midfielders we have like hakan, barella, miki, even asllani who are highly technical as well. One thing we need is presence, and kessie is definitely a big presence in midfield.

Hakan can play regista quite well and in recent times we saw that we didn't look lost without brozo like in recent years, and maybe our overreliance on him cost us in certain moments. I'm kinda edging towards being for the swap for the simple reason that we need some shake up in the team and maybe a midfielder with different characteristics, that is also seria a proven is the way to go.

Another thing we need to remember about Kessie is his good seasons at Milan happened when he was playing in double pivot. When Milan were playing with a back 3 he was very inconsistent. Granted Milan were in a managerial mess back then, going from Montella to Gattiluso and Giampaolo but it's something worth remembering.

Funny my friend (milan fan)said the exact same thing when I was discussing this swap with him and how I thought he was pretty good.

We are beyond retarded if we are doing this.

Actually we are beyond retarded to even considering something like this.

We have enough midfielders. Fix that hole in the defence first.

I think some people are overrating the Barella Brozovic Calhanoglu midfield. It’s honestly never been that good— lacking defensive stability mostly. Barella Hakan Mkhi as a box to box has arguably been a more balanced trio.

I can understand not wanting to put in all the chips on Calhanoglu being a regista considering he hasn’t played there for very long. But another question is if we intend to to keep him there, can Brozovic play as a box to box? I honestly don’t think he can play there consistently at this point in his career— he’s a pure regista.

I think the problem with Barella Brozovic Calhanoglu midfield is not Brozovic himself; Hakan cannot run as much as Brozovic and Barella, I personally have never seen Hakan as a mezzala or a regista, he merely adapted the 2 roles quite well, but still lacking certain aspects of the roles.

Like just comparing Mkhi and Hakan as a mezzala, Mkhi is more capable of moving opponents out of position, just Mkhi's off ball movements and dribbling alone are a bit more threatening; Hakan is a bit more stationary by nature, reminds me a bit of Sneijder (not the same level, but the style) biggest threat comes from the killer passes and long shot, and sometimes include a vital forward run. He is not exactly a good candidate to task to cover a lot of grounds (speed and stamina), even he tries and runs a lot; he is very good as a pivot cause his skills set, but not exactly for tempo dictating and controlling the game.

Moving him to the regista role, actually hides the mezzala's problem, as regista normally does not require to cover a lot of ground (Brozovic is quite exceptional one of a kind), but we end up losing control of the game tempo, and we are seeing a lot more direct plays, which I believe some of the fast tempo long passing games are not really by choice, but maybe the best we can do for now.

I wonder what would a Barella Brozovic Mkhi midfield look like?

I think Brozovic's class is best shown when we played against Real Madrid at home last year.

Who knows though, I didn't see treble coming when we swapped Ibra; I was mad.
Also it didn't end well when we didn't sell Sneijder and use that money for rebuilding, when Manchester United offered.
The Seedorf, Pirlo type of swaps still haunts me though, we don't lack of those.

I'd risk it if Hakan extends. But there's no talk of it yet, meaning he leaves on a free next year. Then we'll have no one but Asllani as a dlp.

We don't have enough midfielders, or at least enough quality midfielders.

And defence is not a dam. You don't fix it by fixing the hole inside the defence. Leaking goals is not just about defenders. It's the whole system, specially the midfielders who play a big role in helping the defence line preventing the opponent from scoring.
