Bastoni got 7 asists in his whole carrer so stop your hyping BS...I don't deny that Bastoni has a great ability to centre the ball compared to other CBs... I'm just saying that to say that Skriniar's weakness is passing is total nonsense...Skriniar plays a little more safely compared to Bastoni but it also depends on the coach's instructions...Because if you check stats under Spalleti Skriniar was playing more forward then under Inzaghi...
These are the numbers for whole carrer...Look at progression stats... But you can see also passes by scrolling down and see that Skriniar has better accuracy in all short,medium,long passes than Batony...

I don't say that his passing is weak, just his overall contribution in attack is poor. Skrinar struggles to handle and keep the ball, because his technical ability is poor. See that every time when he goes in attack, he needs first couple of moments to stop and handle the ball, then to look for a teammate and pass. All of this process takes a lot of time and it's not effective. Compare how smooth this happens on the other side with Bastoni. See how Darmian scored a goal against Atalanta cutting through the middle, when he was playing on Skrinar's position. Those two players have better ball handling to do those stuffs, Skrinar does not. This is the reason, why he is more easy to replace for me. I didn't say that he is bad defender or player, or something similar.

was he the most consistent player over the years? yea, perhaps, he and De Vrij were both pretty consistent. Same goes for Brozo, who had hot and cold spells and became consistent during Conte. Lautaro for sure. We know he has at least one bad spell during the season. I don't agree that he had just one good half season. Perhaps he had, idk, 3 good seasons, but its ok, i don't look at stats, so i dont know mate. And Bastoni not being important as Skriniar? LOL.. yea, if we don't have Bastoni, who will offer the extra help in attack, that Inter need? Why do most Inter attacks go through the left side? Why isn't Skriniar so up the field and on the positions Bastoni is in multiple times per game? You know why? Cause he ain't good at it, thats why. And i don't need to watch any stat sheet to see he is not a great passer, i can see it in games. His passes are often too fast and he's just not that good on the ball, sorry. This is no ''hate'', but just facts. He is probably a better defender than Bastoni, but for the Inter style of play, Bastoni is much more important. Thats why we domintated Atalanta, cause Darmian became similar to Bastoni and is actually good with the ball. But hey, enjoy watching Skriniar in France, i am sure his ''stats'' will look even better there.

All this without even comparing the type of passes each of them hit. Skriniar is very careful on the ball because he has a very limited passing range. Bastoni is constantly sending diagonals, through passes, crosses etc. His range of passing is so much more than what Skriniars is it isn't even worth comparing pass stats

Just going to note that if our management is going to behave this way and if the Zhangz keeps
meddling with things and changing their minds every now and then and decide to micromanage shit, we're not going to be very fond of what's going to follow.

I hope we get proper replacement and that is right CB with Bastoni characteristics. When you play 3 at the back Skriniar is not that good on left or right, he simple is not good enough passer that builds our attack, and we need CB like that, not classic stopper like Skriniar who is great in back 4 or could be in back 3 if he plays in a middle. When you have right/ left cbs like Bastoni, its like having two extra midfielders.
Cbs like that are actually auxiliary midfielders whose role is to carry the ball deep into the opponent's half. This brings us great benefit.
First of all, such atypical play by CBs who are positioned very wide breaks the opponents' structure. No attack can defend such a large space, so the opposing midfielders are forced to jump on our CBs who bring the ball out, which opens up a huge space behind their backs.
Playing right CB as high-positioned stopper provides another benefit in our game. In the event that play in the final third becomes congested due to too little space, our players always have the option of a short return ball to the stopper who can turn the side and reset the attack. Considering that the return pass travels 10, not 30 meters, the restart of the attack comes much faster.

We wont miss Skriniar if we continue to play back 3,we just need replacement that is best fit for right cb cause Skriniar was not best fit in that position. But we have no scouts and no fkn money.

Skriniar not being an attacking RCB was what I recall, Conte’s issue with him. But D’ambrosio or Darmian (it can be debated) were able to keep him out of the starting 11 under Conte. You can Can argue that Godin was successful in that but not many agreed with this.

Skriniar was a starter under Conte. Godin was the guy who was benched by Bastoni and eventually Skriniar moved to the right, as the Slovak was playing on the left side mostly. He was benched like 6 times but 4 of them were in the final games.

Darmian never played RCB under Conte. And he was only around in the 2nd season.
D'Ambrosio covered RWB more than RCB under Conte's first season but he did play RCB a bit when Skriniar was benched.


We remember that Skriniar was benched because it happened at the final stages of the season and especially in the European mickey mouse tournament at the end of the season, where we played with Godin, De Vrij and Bastoni at the back. That was like the 10 last games of the season, so lots of people are under the impression that Skriniar was benched for half the season or something which is untrue.

Conte didn't really like him and wanted to sell him, that's a fact. But Skriniar adapted to what was asked eventually and had a proper role.

I thought he played a standard 7/10. Still having issues with pacy players and is limited with his passing, but overall didn't make a lot of mistakes.

He was kinda shaky at times but still made some decisive things which are at least a very common thing by his standards. Yeah, I think people are being way too harsh on him, but at the same time he's not the same player anymore. You could tell from his body language that he doesn't have the same grinta and passion he usually had earlier.

Could it be that fans' reaction has affected him at some point, but somehow it's kinda sad because he was the soul of this team.

He looked set to slot in centrally as a DeFry replacement. At least that's what made sense to me. Would have been perfect. He never looked comfortable out wide. Now we have to find a central and wide CB smh

We might have a change to get Koulibaly for a loan as he has been pretty bad at Chelsea and they have better options now.

I think Koulibaly would also like the idea come back to Italy/Serie A and at Inter he would have automatic starter role. I think he would be great addition to play at centre role and would bring some needed muscle and leadership to our backline.

As for wide I would go for Tiago Djalo from Lille, his contract ends 2024. I have watched couple of Lille games recently and he look really promising player at age of 22.

Backline Bastoni-Koulibaly-Djalo would be interesting mix of youth/experience, skill/muscle and what we have been really lacking is speed and Djalo seems to have decent speed at his legs.

This might also be doable with our budget as Djalo is rummored to be around ~20m and Koulibaly for a loan deal.

Also Debast dude seems to be promising and might be good for depth player price around 8-10m. I would also be interested someone like Davinson Sanchez (contract ends 2024). I know he is inconsistent, but so are our current players including Skriniar, so not a dramatic change there. But I think Sanchez would be better at wide than Skriniar currently and pretty cheap option and only 26 years old.
