Let's hope that this goal is a turning point for him.
Like Brehme said, when Barella isn't covering for Dumfries, he has more freedom and looks better - but he IS playing good.

Dude is having a better season than some of you guys are giving him. Sure, his shooting is meh this season, but do you really think that if Barella wasn't so solid in our midfield that we would've been first in Serie A this season? Inter's midfield is working their ass off to give other players more chances.

I don't mind Barella being more "laidback" this season. Also I can't wait for Mkhi to not be starting anymore and Barella finally gets that left side of the midfield again.

Best performance of the season so far. Goal was sexy af, but his contribution in overall was satisfying to watch, some of the first touches and also passing in overall was on point. Also on Thuram's goal, he found Cuadrado in the right side which put him in a great opportunity.
That pass to Cuadrado with the outer side of his food was perfect, one touch and with exactly the right amount of power needed. I'm happy for Cuadrado, he hasn't played much but with the few minutes lately he managed to get some crucial assists, that will be great for his confidence if he ends up having to play more over Dumfries in future games.

Cuadrado can unlock matches. He is way too injury prone these days, otherwise his attributes can be deadly in this team. We have seen how he could set up goals out of nothing. Besides, he's good at dribbling and has a good vision.

I've always said that he's one dirty cunt but in footballing aspect, he's amazing.

Finally top notch performance and a great goal. No flip flapping, no idiotic fouls, he looked like a world class player, hope he continues like this!

While I appreciate the effort and the love for Barella, whoever compiled that video needs to be banned from the internet because of the music used.

He actually looks good on the left. I think in Cagliari and also for a part of the first season under Conte, he also played on the left. I also remember him scoring some nice goals cutting in from the left in general (vs. Verona in 19/20, vs. Fiorentina 20/21, and Coppa Italia final vs. Juventus).

Always thought this too, even if the right is a more natural fit for him. He operates well on that side of the pitch.

His wife is expecting a fourth. She mentioned they lost one earlier this year. Added to the betting bs no wonder he hasn't been at his absolute best:

my condolences, I understand what’s it’s like. Glad to see he’s fought through it. Barella is an immense player. Glad he’s on our side.

Sometimes we forget a player is just another human. The loss of a child is very painful and much more impactful to his performance rather than tactical aspect. It doesn't matter if we put him on the left/center/right of midfield if his mind is not at the right state. Just hope his performance against Napoli marks the start of his rise.

Wow, if he lost a child that changes whole situation about reasons for his moody form. Glad he has a strenght for comeback after that.

The flicks and the backheels are back, they never really went away but now it feels good again watching him play. Such a f*cking baller.

He's been brilliant in these past few matches but let's get real, he owes us convincing performances against top quality sides. Napoli is not one though.

I want to see the same approach even against better sides or in tougher matches. His quality is indeniable, but lack of consistency is frustrating though. He tends to disappear in the most critical moments, and I've kept saying that, as a best midfielder of the league he's supposed to drag the team forward and take more responsibility rather than complaining.

To where? Highly he doesn’t want to go out of Italy because well, how many kids he has now? Family is a factor not being mentioned often. Unless managers push hard on him but I don’t think they do it, they will listen to offer but he is the one who decides.
