Pellegrini doesn't typically play with true wingers (Navas being the exception). David Silva and Isco are more attacking midfielders and they were used a left midfielders in his 4-4-2 system, which on the field really looks like a 4-2-2-2 at times.

Rubentus and Man City are the biggest underachievers in European football. Neither of them use proper wingers. I wonder if there's a correlation.

Maybe, but Pellegrini's Malaga were overachievers and Simeone's Atletico went to the final last year using a 4-4-2 with false wingers.

Thats true. He started his career out as a winger, but didn't he turn into a number 10 while he was still in Turkey before he came to Atletico? I'm sure Pajo knows.

We are sick and tired of appointing "upcoming managers" and we simply now want someone top caliber who will demand wages but will deliver results whether thats Jose back or LVG/Hiddink/Simeone/Pellegrini we don't care.

It's clear what we want and need, but the thing is, we are not what the managers you mentioned want.

Literally the day after I write this Guardian comes out with an article asking why Juventus and Man City are struggling. Are they reading FIF :awyeah:

http://www.theguardian.com/football...-champions-league-strugging-europe?CMP=twt_gu

Although, they attribute it to the regression of Serie A and EPL rather than the lack of proper wingers

still not sold on miha. I think if we were in CL and underdogs he'd be good, but in Serie A against those Chievos and Atalants where they park 3 planes, you need some amazing attacking movement and coaching, not just rely on individual quality.

Miha should be last choice but if we do get him it will definitely show us how low the ambitions of the new administration is along with their cash.

If Miha signs for us as coach and part time player, then we should get him.

He can always come in and score a couple of free kicks for us.

Gasperini: Regrets over Inter

Gian Piero Gasperini admits to having regrets about his experience at Inter in 2011, as he targets his Genoa surpassing Sampdoria.
The current Grifone boss lasted in the Nerazzurro hotseat for only 87 days, before being dismissed by then President Massimo Moratti after a defeat in Novara.
“Yes, I still have regrets over Inter,” Gasperini has reflected to Gazzetta TV today.
“It was a huge chance for me and I should have made the most of it.
“But I didn’t have enough time to work – at the beginning there was an initial rejection about some ideas that eventually proved to be not that wrong.
“The club has changed a lot now – there is a new President and a lot of new players.
“I can imagine the pressure Walter Mazzarri is under at the moment, but he is still a very knowledgeable Coach.
“I believe that the situation Inter and Milan are in is just temporary. Both teams appear to be well structured and I think they can do much better than now.
“It’s just the start, so I think that they will be back where they belong in the table.”
Gasperini’s Genoa side instead is flying high at the moment in the table with 18 points amassed after 10 games.
City rivals Sampdoria won the derby this season and sit just one point clear in front of the Grifoni.
“I think that the whole city and environment of Genoa deserve credit for what Sampdoria and Genoa are doing right now.
“This is a football city and there are so many season ticket holders on both sides.
“The two teams doing well is a reward for a difficult moment for the city with the two teams giving their people something to smile about.
“I’ve always said that Sampdoria are a good side. Sinisa Mihajlovic has picked them up, and then conveyed some style and competitiveness to a strong team.
“But the city rivalry is there and we’ll do our best to overtake them in the table.”

Take notes Thohir, our future potential coach might just be here!!!

since we sucked again i will post some of my preferred future coaches

- roberto martinez
- unai emery
- bielsa
- jorge jesus
- jorge sampaoli

any of these coaches and i will be delighted. enough with the italian coward football.

and if we flop again it simply means our players are not up to scratch. people here have been hyping some players far to much when i reality they arent worth halv

Isn't Sampaoli Chiles coach? He only coached crap club teams till he coached your NT

I'd love Bielsa or Emery especially if he brings Bacca with him but Sevilla is 2nd in Spain no way he will come to Italy

no offence champ, and d. silva is a great player, but what has he achieved personally to make him incomparable to Kova? riding spain success on the back of xavi & co while flopping year after year in CL? we're simply comparing playing styles not levels.

now stop trying to piss people off by insulting every player we jizz for.
