Not surprised, the problem was never him. I do/did think that Coutinho and our other attacking midfielders struggle due to the lack of movement from our strikers and the lack of passing ability from the rest of the midfield. Oh, and the lack of any coherence in attack.

The evidence is starting to build up on Strama. The fact is that a little midget like him with great technical skills should have had a much higher chance of success in Italy than he would at a club like Liverpool and yet somehow we got it all wrong with him.

We already KNEW Coutinho could do all that. He's DONE all that at Inter this season. Its the harder opposition where he really struggles...

he didnt get any continuity here, if he got lucky he played the last 10 or 15 minutes. that is no ground to make a decent judgement on his performance. the few odd games he got in the el with a weak squad and with no tactical direction whatsoever dont count either.

with enough continuous playtime his form will start to build and he will get better. its that fucking obvious.

He is playing well, but it's only his third game. It's not only continuinity. It's the system, the league, the players around him...

He needs space, he didn't have it in Serie A, but does have in EPL. He needs playing time, he mostly didn't have it here, he will have it there. He needs movement from the strikers, and players in the box, he didn't have it here, he will have them there.

He is imo born to play in EPL. Even more than La Liga. Expect more from him in these games, except games vs. the teams in the upper half where the space is much less.
