Good performance. There were some shaky parts and some very nice parts to his game. He was visibly tired in the 2nd half but that's too be expected. Kid is improving rapidly however. Much faster than I expected. By this time next season, we could be seeing one of the best teenagers in the world.

Very good kiddo. Very promising. Give him a little more time to adjust and he will be a :star:

Coutinho: "More of the same against Juve"

MILAN - Brazilian youngster Coutinho made his first Champions League start for Inter in Wednesday's 4-0 win over Werder Bremen.

Speaking on Inter Channel after the game, the eighteen-year-old revealed: "I knew this morning that I had a chance of playing from the first minute. I was excited and happy. I called my mother and father to tell them, but I waited to be sure. Now I can admit that I am really happy.

"I did better in the second half than in the first, but I am confident and with time everything will go better. It was a nice victory against Werder. These are three important points and now we want to do just as well against Juventus."

IMO he is getting worse every time he plays, WITHOUT the ball. I have no problem if he gives the ball away, it happens, but he needs to understand that he wont beat his marker all the time and needs to pass backwards...

But let me say it again, with the ball, this dude is amazing.

He was very good. Too bad he didn't score, he wanted to be too precise on the header. Should have just put it on target instead of aiming for the corner.

Loved his combo playing with wes and eto'o.

I agree. And the assist for Sneijder was brillant, but sadly Sneijder missed that great chance.

But in overall Cou was great last night, he is promising player and it was great to see him as starter.

Yeah, Coutinho showed some flashed of brilliance he can produce. Once he gets more muscles (much more) he will be fantastic.

If I remember back quite a few said he will only show his really quality once he bulks up a bit. Coutinho and rafa also said this. So no need to pat yourself on the back...

wrong. you said something along the lines of him never being successful unless he bulks up. well guess what he hasn't bulked up since then and he was successful yesterday in a must win CL game

this was one of your posts, i can't be bothered to look for others. if he had "no chance" then he wouldn't have performed good yesterday. so you should get off that high horse

i told you guys this kid has no chance if he doesn't "beef up".....

everybody agrees him putting on a bit of size will be good. but statements like yours where you downplayed coutinho's potential just because you miss the douchebag balotelli were rightly called bs by people

successful?
like how in 90minutes he successfully couldn't get past WESLEY once?

the kid plays a 6/10 game and you're creaming your pants? lol
wow
how many goals and assists again?

way to dodge being proved wrong. my points still stand of course. you said he won't be good enough if he doesn't bulk up. he's already proved he can be good enough for a match like this. that is of course unless you consider a group stage match against the 2nd strongest team in the group to be a "useless" match

just because you rate him as "6" you think that means anything?. he had a Gazetta rating of 7 who underrate people. he should have had an assist to him if sneijder finished. your point is moot again. time to get off that high horse

you tried to pass off your past coutinho comments as people saying he didn't need to bulk up. but in reality that's not what happened. you said he'll be no good if he doesn't and people said he can be

try worming your way out of that one!

Goals: 0
Assists: 0
Shots: 3 (1 on target, 1 wide, 1 blocked)
Fouls Committed: 3
Fouls Suffered: 1
Passes: 32/42 Successful (76%)
Distance: 10.57 km

Only Biabiany covered more distance than Coutinho (10.95 km) and only Biabiany had a higher pass success rate (78%, but less passes completed) out of the 4 attackers...I'd say it was a pretty solid game that was just missing the goal or assist which could have easily came with a bit more luck...

and he's done nothing so far so i really don't now how i was "proved wrong"....
if you really think he's "made it" and is "successful" based on ONE DECENT GAME, then we have nothing to discuss

he couldn't dribble past an AVERAGE right back and you are here creaming your pants
he scored no goals and had no assists and you are here creaming your pants...
the boy had an overall DECENT game, but you are creaming your pants

i don't give a fvck about gazzetta ratings...they are as useless as the ratings on goal.com or anywhere else....
like all ratings, they are good at picking the BEST and the WORST, but it's the in-between that's the problem

the boy needs to bulk up or he is not going to make it....simple as...
playing an average game against werder bremen with 4-5 injuries doesn't scream "successful" to me....
we'll see what he can do against tottenham, especially if tottenham remains full strength...

he can't get past wesley, not because of skill (which he clearly has), but because of strength and speed....
wtf is going to happen when faced with players like ivanovic, evra, ramos or if played in the middle, against players like essien, fletcher, yaya toure e.t.c.?
start being logical and stop being so fanatical

and funnily enough, biabiany has the better stats for that game, but nobody is creaming their pants for biabiany....lol
i guess biabiany needs some fanboys too....

again with a weirdly unrelated post

"creaming my pants" eh

care to show me where i once said he was "awesome". i didn't even say he was "great" or "very good". did i say any of those? no. but for some reason you decided to fill your post with it. guess you had nothing else to say

fact is you said he has "no chance" unless he bulks up. he almost had an assist. could have scored 2 goals. one poor miss with a header, and one good shot on target. and got rated 7 in his first CL start. and more importantly, almost everyone was happy with his performance

maybe you should give up
