I'm not all this excited for this player, as he hasn't grown from our youth sector... but if he is what he's supposed to be, a superstar in the making, I guess I'll have to wait for his bloom xD

I'd wish Stevanovic or Crisetig or <insert youth player name here> could make an impact on the first team

I for one am excited by him and I hope he will do well. According to all the videos on youtube he obviously has serious talent but then again youtube videos can be misleading. Heck they can even make Quaresma look like a god. Anyways the best we can do is hope his talent will grow and develop at Inter and that he will become a legend for us.

But I'm also trying to not get my hopes too high as I fear he can be easily overhyped which can affect him in a negative way. Hopefully under Mourinho's guidance he will learn to handle the pressure he's bound to face.

I would also like us to promote our youth players more and follow Barcelona's and Ajax's system of relying on club youth, but unfortunately the problem lies in the Italian league imo. The pressure is always so big to perform and youth players aren't very much trusted upon, especially in big clubs like Inter. Sure there are exceptions like Balotelli, but look at others like Bonucci. Quality player, but because of his 'youth' he never got a chance to prove himself...he had to be given to a smaller team to show his worth. Inter unfortunately just doesn't put very much trust into its youth players, but it's not really their fault...

Looks like I am right...most inter fans dont wish inter well. You want inter to give a chance to a youth team player who does not deserve it, simply because it will make your heart feel warm? go and support chievo!

what are you talking about? give me something that ur smoking... when I've said I don't wish inter success?

I wish inter success with players homegrown, when did I didn't wished inter to have success?

the fact that here people are all excited about a foreigner player and not a homegrown player means that our youth system doesn't work as it should...

heck, if we had really good players on the youth team, they would easily be added to the first team, instead, where are they?

so, see what you say and then answer me correctly, not with a thought of your heart...

Problem is not the youth system or Inter. Problem is Italy.

Nowhere in Italy will you find the calibre or quality of players that you will find in Brasil or Argentina.

The mentality is different, the culture is different, philosophy and attitude is different.

Italian football breeds workers, not artists.

Coutinho, Julio
There's some news talking about Coutinho's mom. His parents will move to Italy with him, he won't be alone there. It'll be easier for him to adapt to the italian life with his parents "protecting" him, as they said. When he plays a bad match his mom asks him if there's a problem with him or whatever. They have a good relationship and since he's already learning italian since last year (or 2 years ago, dunno exactly), I guess that moving to italy won't be a problem for him. Everything's coming together. :)

It will be very interesting to see whether he will stay with the first team or get loaned out, I'm opting for him staying.

Considering uefa home grown rules I reckon he will be staying with the side and acting as a super sub for the main team. May play some games with the primavera as well.

I'm pretty comfortable claiming that it's either Inter or Vasco for Coutinho in 2010. Maybe in two seasons (2011-2012), but the first year he will definitely be behind Sneijder and have Mourinho coaching, advising and scouting him out.

Which is fine, I would rather see him not play much and learn than to play, have pressure put on him, and have him lose his confidence. I don't want him to become overhyped and be given so much expectation that he will end up becoming worthless.

Well, there is no one formula that works. Some players suceed being thrown into the fire like Cesc Fabregas and Wayne Rooney, and obviously some others cannot deal with too much at such an early age.

If you ask for my opinion, with a player like Sneijder already in the squad we should have the luxury of having Coutinho be a sort of super sub. He's already a professional back in Brazil and is the best player at his club so we know he can deal with some sort of "pressure", so it would be perfect to ease him into such a role in a new country at a top club. Not too much pressure yet also not too little responsibility, so he is still maturing and developing as a footballer.

I believe the question whether he will stay or get loaned out depends on many factors...from what transfers we will acquire, to how Coutinho is able to handle the pressure, to what system Mourinho (or our future coach) will want to pursue.

Personally I think it would be a mistake to immediately loan him out to a smaller Italian team. Like you guys said it would hugely benefit him to stay at Inter and learn firsthand from the best. I would keep him as a substitute, and if he's struggling with Italian football put him in the Primavera to get playing time.

I do like the fact that his family is coming with him, as that must be a huge mental boost for him. Also, with his parents there he won't turn out like Adriano or a flop...

I have high hopes for this kid, and can't wait to see him here!

Yes, our media says that he's going to Inter in July. I really, really want that to happen. He's always doing superb assists but Vasco's CF sucks so fucking much. So some Vasco fans are bashing him - they are the worst fans ever, they always bash our youth players for no reason. Carlos Alberto is always injuried and he'll probably play for Werder Bremen in July as well - his loan will end in June if I'm not wrong. So yea, if he's gonna play somewhere, the best place would be Inter. Even though if Vasco had an amazing team the best choice would be Inter.
Poor Coutinho, a great talent playing amongst horrible players. Mourinho must help him... lol.
