I'll give credit where credit is due. He had a good game against Bayern. Doesn't change that he backheeled it into himself, has completely missed the ball twice, lunged at a guy and got a yellow out of frustration, and cannot shield the ball for his life.
Sure, he had a really nice one-time pass recently. That works in Brazilian Serie B and indoor. Leonardo would LOVE to play a Brazilian. He doesn't "have anything against" the kid. He's just clearly not up to our standards, and that must be in training as well as games. People here give him more room to "prove himself" because he's Brazilian, wears pink boots, and goes by one name. Obviously I'd like the next Brazilian superstar on this team. Coutinho hasn't shown me anything to make me believe he's that guy.
He won't be a Kaka, unless him still developing to become big is taking him a LONG time or he has been holding back. He has the potential to be that though, but now he looks to me like a version of a player with enormous talent but won't lead the game, someone like Nani, or Chicarito, or Silva, or Adam Johnson. Get it?
