It`s Chelsea asking for a paid loan with option to buy, not Inter:This looks a bs to me. If Inter are disappointed, they won't ask for another paid loan obviously.
Even by agreeing to have a purchase option included in next season`s loan, that would mean nothing. I mean of course as long it`s an option to buy and not some obligation.Sky Sport Italia eported that the Blues have no intention of loaning the Belgian to the Nerazzurri again beyond the end of his current loan deal without at least a purchase option being included.
Chelsea do not want Lukaku’s situation to remain open-ended. The 29-year-old desire to stay at Inter is clear, whilst the Nerazzurri would be happy to keep him beyond the end of the current season provided he can stay fit. However, the Nerazzurri would have to negotiate new terms on a loan with Chelsea in order to keep the Belgian beyond the end of the current campaign, as that is when his current loan deal expires.
The Blues would value Lukaku at around €70-80 million, and they would want any extension to the striker’s loan to include a purchase option at a set fee.
In the meantime, Chelsea are also very keen on Inter wingback Denzel Dumfries, whose name could also come up in talks around Lukaku.
To be honest it doesn`t even matter much what the figure will be. I can already see Marotta/Ausilio in June of 2024 trying to negotiate down his purchase option because Chelsea will have no leverage by then
