Even us the people that were on a fence for him to come to Inter for a reasonable price (under 25m), don't want him anymore.

Close the thread. Delete it even.

I don't have an issue with Lukaku coming back, but rather the price that comes with it (transfer fee + wages). It's not that 30 million is that huge a fee but for a team in our situation, combined with the wages, it's quite a lot of money.

Obviously, if Lukaku can keep the form he had for the last two months, it would be a huge boost for us.
This was back when the fee was thought to be 30 million. My thinking is the same - way too much money for this guy. Regardless of any of this, if the rumours are true that he essentially negotiated with Juventus and ignored all calls, we need to cut ties which is what it seems like we did. Lukaku is a good player in the right system, but he's not someone worth breaking our budget for (given transfer fee + wages).

This is probably one of the best things that has happened to Inter in a long while -
Although it wouldn't surprise me one bit -with how pazza Inter is- that lakaka will join afterall. So I sincerely hope Inter take their stance seriously and tell lakaka to keep fucking off.

The most interesting part about Lukaku falling through is how creative our management will be in replacing him.

Lukaku falling through allows the club to go in a different direction to what they had anticipated but it is going to be interesting to see if they look to a veteran, count on a younger player with some experience or go with a player that is untried (highly unlikely).

Of course, we did not know this was going to happen but it would have been good to insert Samuele Mulattieri as our fifth striker. We should also contact Boca about a Retegui loan.

Why would Boca loan one of their best players? Unless you mean a loan with an obligation.

But he's not even playing for them. He's on loan to Tigre. It may be that Boca feel they are covered up front which is why they are loaning him out. Or maybe they feel he would do better gaining experience elsewhere before they call him into the fray.

What an idiot.
The final nail in his coffin would be for Juventus now to say "hey we're just messing with Inter, we have no intention of signing Lukaku", so he ends up with no one wanting him among Chelsea, Juventus and Inter.

He’ll take the Saudi money if that ends up being the case.

I still believe that will end up being the eventual ending to this saga. Nothing will really happen with Juve and he’ll just end up accepting the mega rich offer from the Middle East.

Actually, i don't mind if Jube sell Valhovic for less than expected, only to get Lukaku before 4th of August, on massive 12mln net salary and 40mln transfer fee.

This could happen.

But Rube will probably get him. Vlahovic will be sold for 90M€ !! The new report now is that the Lukaku contract is 10M€ net 4 years.

It's really incredible turn of events. I didn't think Lukaku is really THIS hungry money whore. Thought he would have made enough already and looking more after where he can play and feel liked which is so important to him, or that's what I thought.

Now I'm not so sure anymore, bizarre decision making by him and his agent. Allegri promised him a center piece role of the project?

I'd assume that deal is still way more uncertain with Juve compared to what it WAS with Inter. Incredible stuff.
