His biggest mistake is trusting Lautaro in the PK spot. With 60% success rate over nearly 30 attempts is simply..horrendous.

Who else I dont know, they might be good or bad, but Lautaro is proven to be bad.

His subs were horrible today. Didn't help that his starters were choking.

Wtf dude. Players are not used to losing? Yea, sure perhaps not this season, but these same players were losing left and right last season.... you just showed that you cant coach a team in two competitons and thats what makes you just good and not great.

You kept talking shit about how shit our mercato was and you expect him to have a 16pts lead in Serie A and make a deep run in CL? Pick your battle.

26th May. We will celebrate. Pep Guardiola and Atletico loss @Wanda. Check.

I won't be surprised if they go for a 3rd CL final. We'll look back and remember that we're the team that narrowly lost on penalties while scoring only two out of multiple 100% goals.

People coming here in Simone thread writing some really stupid shit after he's on a course to winning a scudetto in April. What do you want the Zaccheroni or Hector Cuper back or what.

We have shitty subs and we stumbled to a quality team . Atletico just lost to freaking Cadiz with same lineup , but they turned up tonight!! This is the beauty of football!!

Yes, we will win scudetto for the same reason Napoli won it. Other teams aint that good. Just look at the juventus lineups and their gameplay. And that team was 2nd for most of the season... not great coaches have won the league befofe, just look at my avatar.

Nope. I am fine with the scudetto... but on the end of the day, hes not good to handle both competitions, which is fine, as the team has no money.

First blunder in a while today, but in retrospect I can see his point to some extent. The injury to Augusto was perhaps fatal from Inter's point of view.

I don't think this one is on him at all.
There a lot things atletico mirror us and are stronger and faster, not much to do as a coach.
Their opportunities came from individuals' fucked up or some open up due to duels(all kinds).

Our opportunities are more of a gameplay with deliberate shuffling to create the space, then mismatch/out of position, then the chances.

Also that fluke goal changes everything.

Not to mention, this ref is retarded, the aggression they did, it is shocking there are so less yellow cards, and gave Bisseck a yellow for a clean tackle.

I don't know how a different coach can do anything better, I felt like Carlos and Arna injuries also hitted us hard this game.

Crazy to blame the coach this game, just check the budget difference between two teams.

I felt like he made a big mistake with the Bastoni-Acerbi sub and even the Dumfries-Darmian one. We had Augusto out and given that Dimarco never plays 90 minutes, not sure it made sense to sub out Dumfries given you knew Dimarco would soon follow - it would mean bringing in two defensive options which can backfire if you get to extra time.

He still had time to fix it as he could have taken off De Vrij for Buchanan and have Darmian as LCB to cover as Atletico was sitting back in extra time.

Bastoni for Acerbi one confuses me. Not sure why Bastoni had to go out. We essentially replaced Dumfries-Pavard, Bastoni-Acerbi, and Dimarco-Darmian, going fully defensive.

We ended extra time playing Pavard-Darmian as wingbacks and Acerbi as LCB. Bisseck brought some energy and offensive play, but that left side just could not do anything in extra time - we really needed Buchanan there imo.

Still give him huge credit for the season though.

I absolutely hate his Acerbi for Bastoni substitution. He should have either taken off a struggling de Vrij, or taken off Pavard. Acerbi is not capable of playing as a LCB.

The Buchanan babying was bound to bite us. We clobbered four consecutive teams by wide margins and gave the guy no minutes. We should have him better integrated by now. It's not wild to suggest playing him. We use Bellanova in the UCL final for similar reasons.

This reminded me a lot of last year's version of Inzaghi. His substitutions have been much better this year, but he got it all wrong today.

Inzaghi record so far at Inter:
(21/22) Serie A: behind Milan, CL: eliminated round-16
(22/23) Serie A: behind Lazio, CL: finalist
(23/24) Serie A: Scudetto probably, CL: eliminated round-16

I would say he does good enough considering our -budget. But that's just it, good enough.

Our record against the big teams in CL are abysmal:
- (21/22) losing Real Madrid twice, eliminated by Liverpool
- (22/23) losing Bayern twice, winning Barcelona once, losing to City
- (23/24) eliminated by ATM
So claiming we are top 3-5 whatever is stretched. Some might disagree, but we are edge below ATM and big gaps with others. Finishing and deep & young enough squad to press 90' to be more specific. Regarding depth...one player can take PK reliably is also depth lack.

Serie A don't have a single team of such aforementioned qualities is also an issue. Our league wins aren't highly rated, similar to PSG.

How we play we are a top5 team in Europe. It's just that collectively the players were not up to their standards against Atletico in both matches. Atletico had the mentality of a winner.

Most disappointing player - Pavard. I had such high hopes for him.

Dude, come on! How great we were in CL, excluding the treble season? Inzaghi is doing pretty well considering our budget and those losses vs Real and Bayern were expected, especially when we fielded the back up players against Bayern. Of course he has his flaws, and he gets criticism about it.
He definitely prioritized the scudetto over the CL this year. I'm disappointed but slightly. It's ot like we were destroyed or get eliminated by some weaklings. Jube and Milan fans could be happy and celebrating now, but this actually shows how strong we are, and how they feared do win the CL as well. This is showing that Inzaghi is doing fine job.

Was Juventus top the season they held the 102 points record? Neither does Leverkusen this season.

Nobody really cares how fans feel when watching their favorite teams play. But which team wins eventually. Mentally better = better.

We cant even top our group stage. Dont mix CL and Serie A.

We wouldn't be winning Serie A if we weren't playing so good overall.
