the CL argument doesnt really stack up imho because it was during the latter stages of the CL that we actually recovered our form...

I'm perfectly relaxed. Just disappointed in how the last three weeks have been for Inter.

We should be owning, with a hard run of games coming up ahead of us, but 3 points clear making us feel a bit more comfortable. Instead, easy time is over, and we've got Roma, Atalanta, Juve, Napoli, Lazio coming up over the nexdt 8 matches.

And with Frosinone, Udinese and Torino in that max, with 12 games in 67 days from today (and internationals), tiredness is gonna get worse, not better

Eh. Sample size is small but the evidence is even simpler than that:

With the exception of Milan who finished 4th last season, we haven’t played a single team from last season’s top 8. And yet we’re still dropping points and losing at home to shit sides after taking the lead. Inexcusable.

Milan’s schedule has been much, much tougher than ours. They played last season’s runner ups and dismantled them without ever having to go above 60%. They got trashed by us but also humiliated Roma away and more importantly, haven’t dropped a single point against the smaller teams.

What I’m saying is minus the derby, they’ve shown an ability to reliably beat teams both big and small. We objectively have not.

Milan's schedule much tougher than ours? According to what?

Like I said, on paper these teams may appear stronger or more difficult to beat, but in the pitch it was a completely different story from what we have seen out of all these matches.

You guys are overrating Milan so much. I'm even sceptic whether you watch their matches or just posting based on full time results. In reality, they should have dropped points against Genoa if it wasn't for that blatant robbery. It was a thing which was deciding the match, not your usual mistake by the referee which isn't a direct factor to match result.

I may agree that we haven't been as sharp as we have been since Derby della Madonnina, but at the same time we dominated our opponents and created far more than Milan did against their opponents in these matches. I remember before a few years under Mancini, we had a streak of consecutive 1-0 wins, can't remember exactly but I think it was around seven or eight straight wins with minimal results. What I mean is, our performances weren't convincing but we still have gotten points, so eventually we ran out of luck.

I'm not saying that Milan is always lucky, because this is how they play. But they aren't that good either. In most of cases they have been rather lucky than competent enough. They may even improve from now on, but from all these matches I have seen so far, they are far from convincing tbh. Their wins over Roma, Torino and Lazio aren't convincing me at all, despite that their opponents were "stronger" on paper.

I have seen a far heavier bite by Empoli against us, than Roma did against Milan, or even Torino. Never underestimate other team's tactical discipline. I even feel like other teams tend to overperform against us. We are being labelled as the biggest favourite for Scudetto, therefore we will have teams super motivated and will spit blood against us.

I really don't get all this hype behind Milan's run so far. There's so much inconsistence in individual aspect that players like Theo have been average at best lately and he still gets away with it. Then you have Leao whom is their best player but still fades away for major time. He's extremely unpredictable because he can pull a moment of brilliance and win the game but in overall he lacks consistence. Not even going further on Giroud, Pulisic, Chukwueze, Reijnders and some others whom have been far from convincing.

I dont think any of their squads are better than our squads, but I think our manager has never demonstrated any real success in the league, and our league form over the 2 seasons we've had him has gotten worse every single season.

He hasn't?

He took a Lazio side that should barely be competing for 4th spot to Scudetto contention in 2019-20 only to be stopped by Covid. Did much better than Conte who had spent 300m on an already decent squad until the virus destroyed the season.

Sure, we were bad last season and we were unlucky the year before, but 2021-22 was the first time we were competing on all three fronts till March and 2022-23 we had lost significant players and 35% of our salary structure wasn't available during important stretches of the season and we still made it to a memorable CL final run and had no issues sealing top 4 by the end of it.

The team is supposed to compete for the Scudetto this year and some people are happy because we ended up with Pavard, but it doesn't hide the fact that our roster is still quite thin, especially up front, but we're about to have a rollercoaster of a season if we miss as many key players for as long as we did last season. And that's not on the coach.

Having 4 Inter caliber midfielders in a system that requires 3, isn't right.
Having 2 Inter caliber attackersr in a system that requires 2, isn't right.

Even our backup GK is a disaster this season that cannot be really trusted, not even for Coppa games vs Serie B. If you thought Padelli was done when he was at Inter, Audero is actually even worse...

Only thing I find really curious and strange is the alarmism. Eight rounds is nothing and lot of things can and will happen during the season. Everything is still in our own hands, we control our own destiny.

Against Milan, one deciding factor can be where we are after CL groups are done. If Milan is out of Europe at that point, it might tilt the scale. If they continue in Europe, it's all good.

I hope Milan goes into Europa League :)

hope they win it. Italy went 0-3 in club finals last season. Wish we had won 3/3 even tho I fking hate Roma the most out of all the Italian teams

Bro Europa League is much bigger than Coppa.

Not like we are winning CL anytime soon to laugh on EL.

even just Europa league trophy is bigger than second star aka Scudetto. Let alone Champions league trophy. Scudetto is nothing but pointless. No money in there.

By this logic we should become a mid table team. Sell our best players for profit, scout talents, develop and sell them, just like a basic feeder team.

It's all about money, right?

At this point, for me personally second star is bigger than Champions League trophy. It's not about the money at all.

Anyway, came here to say that I don't agree with Simone's starting lineup alot of times, but I'll keep it to myself because we're winning.

A bad starting line up means good cards to play in substitutions. Thats how our season is going. We play 90 minutes and Inzaghi can greatly influence the play through substitutes.... Rotating also means more energy and fewer injuries in the long term.

What constitutes as bad starting team can be also called Italian pragmatism. We have a CL match and Roma + Juve very soon. But to be fair, this is Inzaghi, who can be in love with his first 11 for 10 matches and then play 10 different starting 11 for the next 10 matches.

Playing Darmian on the wing to have a more defensive first half, having Bastoni on the bench so he has a breather... seems typical Inzaghi to me. After we made the subs, we steamrolled Torino.

What a genius "let's play the starting eleven that came back from international matches against Torino and play some subs at a decisive match against Salzburg".

Yeah, look where that shit got us. We're only just sitting top of both current competitions and managing our squad rotation reasonably well. What a fucking dweep.
