As much as I love Cuchu, he's not a creative player and besides his best role is a dm. The only creative player we have are Jimenez & Figo, I've always feel that we've been lacking creativity in midfield.
There's no denying that Sulley is a great player but the only way I see this going through is if we offload Dacourt as we will just have too many dm!!

Muntari set for £12.7m Inter move

Muntari joined Pompey from Udinese for £7m in May 2007

Portsmouth midfielder Sulley Muntari is expected to complete a £12.7m move to Inter Milan on Thursday.
The 23-year-old Ghana international has agreed a four-year contract with the Italian champions.
The signing suggests that Inter boss Jose Mourinho has given up hope of signing Frank Lampard this summer.
Mourinho had been desperate to land an attacking central midfielder - Lampard was his first choice, with Muntari regarded as the best alternative.
Portsmouth signed Muntari from Udinese for £7m in May 2007 and he was an ever-present in their first team last season, scoring seven goals.
Last week Pompey boss Harry Redknapp said he was very reluctant to allow the Ghana international to leave Fratton Park.

Is this a disaster or good business?

"We haven't spoken to anybody and I don't want to sell Sulley anyway," he said. "He's a top player. We don't have to let anyone leave and we definitely don't want to. (He is) going nowhere, nowhere at all."
But the lure of playing for the Italian champions in the Champions League, under the guidance of Mourinho, was too much for Muntari to resist.
Mourinho will now hope to sign Lampard when his Chelsea contract expires next summer.

I'm still not sure with this signing... Could be a waist of money but i trust mourinho's judgement. When it becomes official we can pretty much give up on Lampard... And thats what i would be more upset about.

Upset about what?! Abramovic doesn't want money! All he wants to do is piss of Jose. We could make a billion dollar bid and he probably still wouldn't accept. Next year if Lampard doesn't sign the extension he's coming! It was out of our hands.

Relax man... I'm just a big fan of Lampard and wanted him here for the start of the Jose's era. All this build up for Lampard and now it's pretty much a failed bid by inter who have turned to Muntari who hasn't got the big game experiance that Lampard has...

mate u will like muntari, there is always next year for lampard, look at it in this way the money that we were supposed to sign lampard we decided to use it for muntari while we get to bring lampard for FREE..Mourinho is an excellant coach and if he wanted muntari that means he thinkss he could do well for the club, we will coup without lampard its not like mourinho only can work with lampard, have patients and by next year Lamps will be here and nothing would stop him :)

It's Inter fans. They are never happy with anything :) i'm not talking about everyone, but about majority..

Seriously, it's great that we will get him in few days time. I hate when we get players late- even on last day of mercato, and they start to understand philosophy of our coach sometime in january...

Definitely. Was it on Monday when the first rumors came up? This deal really looks going through this week so I'll say job well done Inter transfer team when Muntari has signed.

Were spending money on muntari when we dont even need him quaresma should be our priority if were playing a 4-3-3 we have our defensive mids and our subs.

I dunt think Mourinho is the kind of coach that spends money on the place that he does not need. To support a 3 man attack system the 3 midfields must be very very strong and energetic. I have no doubts on Cambiaso but everyone else for that DM position is on the wrong side of 30. U will never know how many games Viera is going to play this season, Dacourt is a good bench player,Pele is still young he might even go to Porto. Muntari is a very good buy for that price.

I do not think Muntari is a replacement for Lamps.

I think Mourinho has always wanted a tough midfielder, and only misled the press in thinking Lampard was the only midfield option.

By the way, Muntari is NOT a defensive midfielder. He is a central midfielder with very good defensive abilty. he can also play on the wings, but I do not think Mourinho will ever play him there.

We will all know Mour's intended formation today, but i think its not gonna be a flat 4-3-3, or some kinda 3 strikers bull... its gonna be 2 strikers and a winger, like Real play

I find it hilarious how the management can possibly think buying mediocre players like Mancini and Muntari will make any sort of difference.

Its been clear for the last two seasons, that we needed 1 or 2 big signings that could make our squad make the needed jump in quality to be among the best clubs in the world and a real CL contender.

Mindblowing to say the least... Apparently moratti also believes Mourinho has some kinda magic potion that will make our current players capable of things they werent before :wallbang:

okay, now I am certian that you are either

1.) a wind up mmerchant

or

2.) you are one of those who only look at names and ignore quality
