Amazing performance, Giggs 2 days short of his 40th b'day produced amazing performance. Rooney with 4 assists and almost everyone played so well. Wish we play this well every week.

Two strikers that we are chasing - Rodrigo and Dzeko, also scored their goals tonight.

Can anyone imagine fiorentina losing 5-0 AT HOME at this united side? giggs and jones in midfield.

And people say bundesliga mid table is the same as serie a.

They certainly do need to get away from 3-5-2, as should we, but the fact is that they don't have any decent fullbacks. Caceres is the only one they can really trust in that position. Nor do they have wingers, and Marchisio lacks the technique to play AM so I'm not sure who they'd play there either, or were you thinking they should play 4-3-3? Plus, I don't think Pirlo works without a pure DM next to him and they haven't got one of those either.

4-3-3...They dominated Real Madrid with that formation, except they were wasteful as fuck. They can't break down teams with 3-5-2, they need penalties. (I said this literally 2 minutes before they got a penalty and scored).

They could buy Cerci in January, because Marchisio lacks big game mentality. He missed so many chances against Madrid.

Juve haven't exactly been amazing either.

They've been fucked with bad luck in Europe, to compensate for Serie A refs. Both against Copenhagen and Galatasaray I think they had like 25-30 shots compared to like 3-4 in return.

In Madrid they dominated large periods, but were way too wasteful and then got tired.

If they can capitalize on their chances they could easily be Top 4 team in Europe.

We've been linked to Fabian Schar. How good is he? I haven't seen them play this season

He really first impressed me at the 2012 Summer Olympics with Switzerland. Basel called for his services following a stint in the Swiss second tier, and he established himself as part of a starting CB duo alongside, guess who, Aleksandar Dragovic. While the latter was primarily placed in a ball playing role, with Schar as more of a sweeper, it should be noted he has decent on-the-ball technical skills.

NO ONE expected him to grab the starting spot following his arrival from FC Wil, especially at a club like Basel where expectations are extremely high.

He's known to be a goalscoring CB, and I particularly remember a memorable strike from well into his own half against Aarau in the Challenge League (second division). Iirc he scored 4 goals in 10/11 and another 5 in 11/12, and a sensational 8 last year.

I noticed he has a lot of positional awareness and defensive composure, which are especially essential to compensate for a lack of speed. He is also strong in the air, and a set piece threat.

He's been continuously compared with Mats Hummels, with many alleging that he is Dortmund's first choice option as a replacement.

However, while he is the rock behind Basel's strong defence, one area of improvement is his passing tbh, with a tendency to make risky passes when in possession (although this could be attributed to Yakin's attacking tactics). He is a good example of a modern CB tbh, not necessarily ball playing, but not a pure destroyer either.

juve and milan will go through, napoli will 90% stay out. The sad thing is napoli played better than all of them, just the seeding fucked them over.

Fucking piece of shit uefa. Ever since they took 4th spot away from Italy, all you ever hear is which league is better, which league is worse. I can't believe I find myself cheering for Juve and Milan at times. I miss 3-4 years ago, where we never gave a fuck about them, and just thought about ourselves. Ever since Italy lost that spot, I haven't seen a fucking single Serie A game on TV. Pieces of shit. Show me Liverpool vs. fucking Cardiff on tv, but not Inter vs. Juventus.

jube completely owned madrid inboth legs, they were just far roo complacent and lacked the killer instinct to put away those easy chances. but they are still heavily favoured by refs in italy

that's why I said they reminded me of Bayern before their treble. They were extremely wasteful against Chelsea, but next season for some reason, they left that choking mentality behind, and became the best team in the world. I think Conte is too much of a pussy though, to make that change in mentality.

Tevez-Llorente partnership is increasingly becoming stronger and stronger, but their main problem is their formation. You cannot win in europe with a back 3, and with 4-3-3, Tevez is not in his max in the wing.

3,4.
I think it's better for italian football that Napoli goes in Europa League,I think that they can progress 'till the final in that competition and achieving important points for Ranking coefficient (Fiorentina could do the same if both will not snob the competition so far),while I expect Milan going out immidiately after stage groups once they'll face someone between Utd.,Bayern,Arsenal/Dortmund,Psg,Atletico and Chelsea. Juve might go through quarter/semis,of course it will depend by the draws.

It's not unlikely that AC won't even get to the knockout rounds. If Ajax beat them they go to EL, and Ajax have beaten them at home often enough, also when they were still 'strong'. + they are in the vibe now after defeating farce. And if they defeat farce, they can most definately beat AC...

Depends. Ajax will miss Veltman who's bossing in defense though. But Ajax wouldn't be Ajax if they went attacking against Bbilan. Think it'll be a 1-2 for Ajax.

I think we'll get a Juve-Madrid-Barca-Bayern semis, which would be great. And I think Madrid might just take it this year thanks to Ancelotti's experience. But Bayern are still heavily favourites.
