Was he that bad? i thought he actually looked solid for some moments. specifically that first run he had and cross. Regardless this is a difficult game to measure how good/bad anyone is. It was overall a terrible game..conflates everything else.
Nothing to be said about him yet honestly. He came on to a semi-toxic atmosphere in the stands and a stinky pitch (teammates shitting themselves, what else is new?). Let's see him play under normal circumstances at least.
He seems to have potential, happy to have him in the squad. Good acceleration which is great in final third, i liked his first cross as well, I feel Lukaku should have been positioned better, one to keep an eye on for sure.
Obviously he came on when the whole team was under pressure, a lot of a time he also didn't have any nice passing opportunites (which he has expressed to his teammates, there was a lot of waving involved), but it was a underwhelming debut nevertheless. Based on what I saw yesterday, I understand why Candreva holds the spot at the moment, although few occasions, such as the cross, show a potential to change that in the future.
I have absolutely zero expectations of Lazaro but I've no idea why people are criticising him for Prague match.
He got subbed into a complete shitstorm of a match, brought a sense of urgency and did his best not to surrender possession cheaply. There was several times he had the ball with his head up, but couldn't find any teammates making any runs or any space. He got himself into good positions to receive the ball but then got completely Nagatomo'd by Biabiany by his teammates like 3 times.
i don't get all this criticism either, he was decent for his first official match and added a little pace to our play.
just stop bashing every new player after just 2-3 games.
You would bench Godin? D'Ambro was beaten too easily versus Slavia and I love D'Ambro but when it comes to coming out with the ball Godin is ten times the player.
Lazaro gave me Dalbert flash backs in his first minute on the pitch, we need to wait and see, he barely played a friendly for us. My only qualm with him is that he doesn't look like an athlete, and I mean body wise not the tattoos, he seems like he can get bullied off the ball but hell the club wanted him what could go wrong? It's not like we bought a full back (supposedly to start) every year for the past decade.
