Mazzari will be a good coach. Nobody's perfect, but he knows we've got to work it. If we were a movie, he'd be the right guy, that leads us to a title in the end. I mean you've got to give it to the guy, he's got nerve, and he's passionate.

Very true; while I have strong opinions against his appointment, Mazzarri has shown his ability in building a strong defensive unit. Something that glared last season was Stramaccioni's lack of defensive tactics, especially off the ball, and the midfield's lack of defensive awareness, but tbh with the arrival of Mazzarri I see a much larger focus on defending in the entire team.

I do think that he both verbally and visually exudes confidence, which I think is very important. Whereas in comparison Strama came across alright in interviews, but visually he came across as a nervous child which I'm sure was picked up by the players.

I also think that it must be hard for players to respect someone like Rafa too. Or even like him as he looks like a fat smug bastard. Obviously a coach's physical appearance shouldn't be that important, but it's hard to ignore one's eyes.

In a recent interview for GdS, he said he was supporting Fiorentina and Antognoni when he was a kid. But now he supports only the clubs he is working at.

Could give him firepower to move some of the older legs out and start a little more of the youth movement. Could also help weed out those who just plain don't give a fuck and don't want to run.

Something I've learned from being a rugby player is that the most fit team always wins. This definitely applies to football too and as you can see from last season we didn't have the most fit team. If he can get Cambi running again and everyone's fitness up to a good level we should be playing a good 90 minutes of football every game, especially with only one or two games a week. I'm really glad there's been so much fitness training in practice because it also means less injuries and more goals.

It'd be interesting to see what Kuzmanovic is like with proper fitness if we keep him.
