Exactly, probably looking for something like 5m€ net. None of our defenders make that much, not even De Vrij and he's the most senior one. I guess after his extension he might get to that level but it's only deserved.

Well we will need 2 defenders next season, as Zinho will probably be 1, while Rano, Kolarov and Dambrosio will most likely be gone. Good thing about Romagnoli is that he'd be free, but i dont think he would wanna be a backup and would also want a pretty big salary. So id rather get some other guys that will be out of contract and wont demand lots of money. We cant really do worse than Kolarov and Dambrosio, who is also not that great in that position.

Kessie is the only quality player among them. I can't tolerate Kessie since I associate him too much with Milan. But purely from a footballing perspective, Kessie would be great. Not to mention, he is young too.

Romagnoli makes sense only if Marotta has already planned to sell someone amongst our 3 defenders. Otherwise It's useless to give a huge salary for a back up player and he'll demand a lot.

Yeah, it probably safer for all concerned, however giving any enhancer to Dumbo maybe dangerous. Sure he would attack the ball, but he may fail to grasp which team is which. The dead ball situations may even alert the refs that something is a little off.
