Milenkovic was close to joining West Ham for £14m this summer. It was a pretty good price for someone with his quality. Maybe we could make an agreement with Fiorentina for a loan with obligation to buy deal after his move to West Ham collapsed.

The lack of proper back up and competition for our starting CBs is beyond worrying and I wish the club signs someone better than DDA and Lolarov in January.

Milenkovic would be great but i fear we could only afford low cost options. Squad depth in defence has been terrible in the last two seasons and it needs to be addressed but we're going to have bigger priorities next summer. A creative midfielder, a forward and perhaps a lwb in case Perisic leaves. Then we can think about backups. We need to address starting lineup needs first.

That's why I don't understand our loan policy. We loaned out Pirola to Monza and he didn't play a single minute this season and last season only played 14 games. This guy could actually be a option if he would have played more last season and this season. Especially now when we are in financial troubles guys like Pirola and Agoume could be decent back-ups if they only played more in the last 2 years. I'm not saying they have the quality to burst into the scenes in our squad but rather these guys as back-ups then the Kolarovs of this world.

Zinho Vanheusden (hope I spelt that right) and Lorenzo Pirola are our back ups for next season so there is zero need to worry about back ups in defence.

The best thing about Pirola is in a typical Inter fashion he's getting benched by ex Inter primavera player Luca Caldirola.

Agreed. Inter needs a new owner with money to spend in the areas you mentioned and some backups on defense. If our "loaned guys" are not being utilized then maybe they would be better off training with the squad to save on some coin.

There is a new talent coming out of Argentina. His name is Valentin Barco and he plays as a LB, but due to his technique and ball movement he can play higher up the pitch as well. Maybe we could snatch him before the other clubs come and get him.

Pasquale Guarro (Calciomercato and somewhat informed on Inter) writes that we’re fully in on Kostic for the post-Perisic LWB role.

It’s helped by the fact that he’s changed his agent to Lucci (Vecino, Correa, Dzeko, Kolarov).

According to Guarro, Kolarov helped to make this connection happen following Kostic’s move to Lazio collapsing. At least we finally know what Kolarov is being paid to do

I would approve Kostic as the Perisic replacement if the transfer fee is something close to 20 and salary would surely be much lower. The guy just turned 29 so he's not some up and coming guy anymore. Growth Decree applied and the overall cost could be even lower than Perisic' one currently.

I'd expect him to be worse defensively than Perisic but with his deadly left foot he'd be better offensively, at least with the crosses. Not sure about the movement.

IIRC Lazio had agreed something like 15m.

There never was an agreement. Eintracht were asking for 15m while Lazio didn't want to offer more than 10m plus bonuses. Then Kostic skipped training in order to force a move which pissed Eintracht off and resulted in the whole email gate.

Tuttosh1t after linking us to Izzo for years :yao: , they keep writing that Bremer is a "major target for the Nerazzurri as they look to shore up their defense, especially given that departures are expected next summer in the backline."

The Brazilian is also reported to be a target of Napoli as well as Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

Torino are hoping to secure the player’s future given that his current deal is set to expire at the end of June 2023, but so far he has given no indication that he is prepared to accept their offer worth a net of €1.8 million per season to renew.

At the moment, the Granata value the defender at no less than €30 million :ROFLMAO: , but they could be moved to agree on a deal for considerably less should no agreement be found with him on a renewal as his contract moves towards its end.

I have been extremely impressed by Bremer every single time I've seen him. He's one of the three best center backs (and by that I mean the central defender in a three-man backline) in the league, and he's only 24. He also has something ridiculous like almost 10 goals in under 80 matches as a defender for a relegation-threatened side.

Maybe I'm falling victim to the epidemic notion that "the grass is nearly always greener on the other side" that thrives so well on this website, because, for sure, De Vrij has been nothing short of a fantastic purchase for us. And I'm not saying Bremer would definitely, immediately be at that level and provide the stoic calm and playing out from the back that Stefan does.

But if it's true that he and Raiola are looking for that Premier League adventure, I don't see why we shouldn't sell a thirty year old De Vrij for a hefty, Premier League-inflated price next summer if we can get Bremer for something that resembles a reasonable deal.

If we find ourselves in that situation, with our finances, I don't see a better solution.
