So, when we sell Onana in the next days, the plusvalenza should be counted on upcoming season 2023/24, right?

Onana is good, but not that (omg wtf pls don't sell him in the beginning of the mercato or ever) good.

~60m is good enough for any goalkeeper, especially for someone that screwed his national team chances forever.

Might be unpopular opinion, but it's what I think.
I'm sure Roma sold Allison for more, and I'm sure what we'll end up getting is less than that.

It's more about playing as a team at a high level and systems of play.

Onana is the new deep playmaker. It's what Motta was carrying on about when he did his couching certs and was philosophising or whatever.

That's why they (FIFA) are looking at the offside rule.

It is such a shame. He basically started some of our attacks himself with his long throws or long passes

We need to hold out for the full 60m
As far back as I can remember (Pagliuca) we've always had excellent goalkeepers. I like Onana, but I'm pretty confident that we can find a suitable replacement.
agree. I’m confident in another goalie (more so than replacements at other positions). Selling Onana for 55m is good business. Who you spend the cash on is another thing

Onana turned out to be great business in retrospect, but I can’t help but be upset we’re losing another top player after 1 season because of market dynamics. *sigh* that’s just football in 2023 I guess.

My feeling exactly. And I think it's good to be upset. Imo you have given up if you just roll with the punches. I sometimes rationalize sales to feel better though, I barely notice it any more.

For sure not advocating self destructing with anger, and I bet we'll still enjoy Inter immensely, but call it like it is: selling Onana, Brozovic were not decisions inspired by football reasons obviously

Well, as soon has rumors about Onana gained traction, we all knew it was going to happen. Selling one of Inter's " stars" because of necessity. Will it be close to the collective "price tag" we , as fans, demanded? Let's hope so. Will the monies generated be used wisely? Fingers crossed, but my gut feeling only partially. So now, I hear Inter is in the market for 2-3 goalkeepers, brilliant!

Pedulla thinks the offer will be close to 60M and talks will continue over the weekend.

Damn no one is mentioning marotta and ausilio for getting him free 10months ago.
And now are selling him for freaking 60m hes a goalkeeper after all. That price is ridiculously great
It was some masterclass work from Ausilio. People are just frustrated that he’s leaving— and rightfully so.

I think people are more pissed about where we're going to spend Onana's sale money than Onana's sale itself. We're throwing out a rare chance to strengthen the team wisely with that money and deciding to just flush a good amount of it down the toilet by permanently signing a 30 years old declining Lukaku who's ironically the same age as prime Brozovic who's just been let go for peanuts.

It's this.

It's also that Manchester United would have been throwing 80m at us if it weren't for their takeover and FFP stuff.

And it's also that we don't trust our owners will allow the sufficient reinforcement using these funds.

Why not ask for an exchange with Maguire + cash. Inter need another defender, no?
The only good thing about having Maguire at Inter is we would get a lot of attention from casual football fans all around the world. Millions of people would be watching Inter games week in and week out.

To make video compilations of his brainfarts, of course.

I know what you're talking about, I just don't agree with this at all.

We don't need our goalkeeper to be our new deep playmaker. We need our playmaker to be our playmaker.

I love it too when once in 5 games, players pass the ball back and forth with the goalkeeper, but that's a russian roulette disaster waiting to happen (statistically).

Our striker should be our goalscoring machine, that's not the job of our CB.

For this to affect Inter so much, Onana should've been here in his 4th season performing better and better each season before.

What Onana did was replace a very old Handa who made some seriously cringe worthy mistakes.

Not saying Onana is bad, but take any relatively young and good goalkeeper and he would've looked amazing after the decline of Handa.

Hända at his prime with zero "deep playmaking" skills is still better than this year's Onana, my opinion.

So having said all this, I think we should take the money and move on.

Whether we should have asked for more money in these stupid times, is a real thing to have a debate on, but as for selling for serious profit, my answer is yes 10/10.

i also could care less if the GK can play with his feet. I want him to be able to make saves. I sometimes can't stand the passing back to the GK, especially when we are in their box and then 5 seconds later, our GK has the ball. It has been going on since Conte. Thats why Handa was sometimes the player with over 50 passes in a game. Also, a young GK should be able to learn how to pass the ball with his feet. If a 35 year old Handa was able to do it, i am sure Trubin will figure it out with time. He won't be as good as Onana, but who really is?

We are laughing at Milan fans, but we also love to overrated our players. Onana is just the next in the list. His ball distribution is amazing, but people here act like we will get relegated without him.
