What do we know about Investcorp? would they do things better than Suning?

Well they are not your Arabian Sheikh sugar daddy if that’s what you thinking. They are fundamentally the same as Oaktree a AIF just with headquarters in Bahrain. Their goal is not to own a toy they can play with or to gain a soft power, but to create profit of any asset. So if people think this is drastically going change how things are then their in for a surprise, because these ain’t no sugar daddy they are an alternative investment fond. They previously owned Gucci, they have branches all over the world.

They will like Oaktree try making the club economically sustainable but unlike Oaktree they will probably not sacrifice results on the altar to get there as they are actually interested in running a football club, but it’s still purely about profit in both cases, at the end of days.

I’m not celebrating but I’ll take them over a questionable Sheikh if I have too…

I'd be happy as long as it's not a national government's public investment fund and is somewhat de-centralized.

I can't imagine Suning would turn down 1.3billion if this rumor is true.. they would be incredibly greedy to do so. Even if they refinance, the terms won't be good and I can't imagine the value of the club can go up much more with our debts and lack of profitability.

And that reason is ONLY profit. People who put money in that fund, expect some return in money. As we all know, it will be very difficult to make money from football club in Italy. So, how they can make money, to return to investors in some percentage. The only valuable assets football club have, are players. Conclusion: sell players and make some money. That is priority for investment funds. Also, ACM wzs sold for 1.2B, but only about 70%. The rest of 30% is still in possesion of Elliot.

anything is better than Suning right now because Suning is bankrupt....even just Thohir comeback to Inter will greatly help Inter funding and financing, let alone Investcorp.

Since, this rumor has revealed it's not a football mad sugar daddy, Inter may get bought by a more financially viable entity but with a similar strategy: sell the stars and paper over the cracks until the stadium is built and starting to be paid for a la Spurs (didn't they have nonexistent transfers for a couple of years). Be careful what you wish for.

Yeah from my experience "neither confirm nor deny" means confirm.

Making us Sustainable sounds good. Would they sell important players each summer or operate different than suning?

They will sell players if the price that arrives at the desk is deemed high enough, no one is safe with a AIF as owner.

The second reason is slimming the payroll. They certainly are not fond of old players on high wages or even high wages at all, all players that now receive a high wage are at risk getting sold the moment they take over due to lack of revenue.

Investcorp will definitely try improving revenue unlike oaktree, that will just cut everything to the bone, cover over the cracks and cover the leaks and then put cheap paint over and sell it as a complete renovation and try to get as much they can back from the loan as quickly as possible. This is the difference of one who want to have a club in the portfolio and one that doesn’t.. But the end goal is the same profit.

It now makes sense also why we started fast tracking the new stadium these past couple of weeks with the Rozzano mayor meeting. Try to beef up the value.

As opposed to what happens now where we may sell players just because an offer arrives?

Can really an elite football club be sustainable? Form everything written on these pages my strong feeling is there is no way Inter can be sustainable and satisfy some basic sporting needs of the club and fans. Like it or not, we need a sugar daddy imo

Now Tuttosport reports it might be some Saudi entrepreneurs, Mubadala or Ivestcorp (they btw invest a lot of Saudi money).

I'll give you an answer to this when our latest books are published. My gut feeling right now is that, with slightly better commercial revenues, a stadium that we own, and reduced costs (eg no write downs on player or sponsorship contracts, financing debts, etc) and a little bit better control of spending, we could be sustainable

also, the point isnt for the club to be sustainable - the point is for the club to be sustainable on an op/ex basis, and then use sugar daddy money for extrea spending when needed. At the moment we need SIGNIFICANT boosts just to reach op/ex even

No.

Not in Italy.
Not in England.
Not in Spain.
Not in France.
Not in Portugal.
Not in Brazil.
Not in Argentina.

The myth of "sustainability" is just there to preserve the status quo.

The only "sustainable" elite club in the world is Bayern Munchen. And if you look at their financials, you'll realize why.
