thank you for proving that any venue is in danger of terrorism and not just the middle east

I never argued any different. I only doubt Qatar's ability to deal with terrorism.

compared to the world renowned counter-terrorism forces of south africa i don't think that it should be an issue

don't you think that the qatari government have thought of that possibility? security in that country will be radically increased during the world cup, whether it will be at the airport or the stadiums or the streets or the subway, there will be security officials stationed 24/7

besides, security was already considered by fifa and they seemed to think that it will be perfectly safe

The operational risk of staging the World Cup in Russia: medium.

The operational risk of holding the tournament in Qatar: high.

All the other bids were listed as low risk.

And air conditioning will be done in a greener way, btw stop hating on it.

Also all the stadiums built will be dismantled and moved to African nations where they will be used again.

And trust me,I'd feel more safe in Qatar than NY. Yes they arent defensively equipped because they have never been threatened by the big terrorist groups, but I'm sure in 12 years they will have support from all of the Arab World. They will spend atleast 10 times of what the US would have.

LOL our security forces can't even deal with normal criminals, thankfully we aren't a terror target. Else we all would be going :palm::palm::palm:

Security should be fine.

:D The americans are bitter for not getting a world cup that none of them cared about.

Honestyl though, if I was part of the USA bid committee, I'd be happy to lose to a bid like that, I understand that Qatar is a small country but their whole plan is way different and better than the rest, simply. Its not a political decision, its just that this will take the World Cup to some place it has never happened, open up new markets for FIFA and also Qataris are waaaaaaaaaaayyyy more crazy than Americans about 'soccer'.

Wrapping stadiums in solar panels isn't exactly cost free.

Nor is upkeep in Africa.

yo bro for real you need to stop hating on them. does it saden you so much that a country so small can outdo you guys in every way possible. they have way more money in their left pinky compared to your whole country and they will use it well. if its something i learnt about the middle east, if they want to do something right they will.

Yes. The only worry I have is that they will go all arab and be late. :D. That is the only worry. FIFA will need to kick some ass. I hope they hire American contractors though, professional ones.

And for Qatar this will define the future for them, tourism wise, they will spend every Dinar they have

It saddens me that a country that plays by the rules can be outdone by a country that bribes its way to hosting a World Cup.

Speaking from Zurich later, Sunil Gulati, the president of the United States Soccer Federation, sounded boggled by FIFA’s awarding two World Cups at the same time, which inevitably led to FIFA-like machinations.

“That’s not how things are done in our country,”
Gulati said.

bribe.. says who?

you think this world is played on a level field? Or that every games outcome is based on the best teams performances? man you better wake up and recognise bro. We aint living in wonkas chocolate factory here. Money makes the world go round for the right price anything can happen.

But im not saying that theres was any bribery involved in it.. not at all. Just like it was a big coincidence that the riot onto birminghams pitch happened hours before decision time...;)

One day if you have time we'll sit down and have a chat about how shit works. :D
