Sure, Sommer is a better GK than Vicario. But Sommer will leave the club soonish because he is old.
Vicario could've been our primary GK for 8 seasons minimum. That is the my main concern, we are just prolonging our GK problem.
We don’t have a GK problem, having a problem indicating that the current is not up to snap, that isn’t really the case.Sure, Sommer is a better GK than Vicario. But Sommer will leave the club soonish because he is old.

We don't have a need to buy a keeper. But if there's a chance to buy one, to get someone to learn the ropes as the second keeper, to be a future 1st, why not do it? We need to ultimately replace Sommer anyway in the future, and not in a distant future. Why do we have the need of buying a keeper this season already? I think it’s a given Sommer will stay number 1, and someone along the lines of Consigli/Montipo or maybe loaning someone like Turati if possible would be more than enough the coming season. Why not just wait until next summer to splash out on a proper future number 1? We should use our resources more wisely I think.

You learn by playing not by watching from the bench, you can be absolutely certain that even if we got someone to stand second. It is an almost guarantee that the moment that first spot becomes available a new more experienced one would be brought in as replacement and not given to the “future” keeper simply because of lack of experience and action.
The only way such a player is ever handed over the gloves is if first choice drop forms or get injured doing the season, otherwise there is little chance that keeper will ever become other than a bench warmer.
The main issue with buying talented GK is they don’t get time to play unless you let them stay at the parent club, it’s very different from any other positions where talents can be subbed in and/or played in less challenging matches to gain the necessary playing time
So there just little point in getting one, before it’s due time.
We aren't going to sign a keeper who hasn't been a first GK in his respective team. Bento is one for his club, Martinez is one for his club etc etc. There is enough first GK experience in all our potential candidates.
We will most probably start with Sommer next season anyway. The 2nd keeper will maybe play Coppa Italia, maybe some CL league phase matches etc. So the 2nd keeper will most probably play. Bringing in a guy means getting that guy used to the club, the team, the coach. How you train at Inter how everyone behaves, what is expectation level. All that kind of stuff without having to perform from the first minute by having to win every match, two times a week.
