Impressive performance, but as I was saying at half time, there’s no way he gets to play so advanced for Inter. He was basically playing as a right-winger this match - virtually every touch was in the opponent’s half.

He didn’t have to navigate a high press; or put in a tackle; or cut out passing lanes; or cover for our wingbacks; or double-team their wingers or any of the many things which Barella & Miki do that we take for granted.

Nevertheless, he’s clearly a very impressive asset that I expect Inzaghi will utilise. If the win doesn’t look secure against Milan by the 60th minute, I want to see him thrown on.

I’ve come to see him as more of a Mikhitaryan style attacking mezzala as opposed to a Barella style box-to-box one. He can do dirty work and put in the hard yards, but ultimately he wants to get forward and score.

I'd feel more comfortable with this if his ball playing skills were better. He still seems to me like someone who is at his best running, not dribbling. Mkhitaryan is a better dribbler.

Mkhitaryan actually can play as a Mezzala, Frattesi can't. Frattesi is closer to Barella, but what Barella does, he is better at it.

If we play Frattesi, it's so we can attack even more. But Frattesi - Hakan - Barella midfield right now is not exactly a balanced midfield except if Barella stays back more.

Frattesi's book value next summer will still be too high to generate enough plusvalenza to be worth selling him, unless it's for a ridiculous fee. He's safe.

Barella, on the other hand...

This guy is already a legend for me. This is what real grinta is. Can't wait to get more out of him, what a player.

Barella has grinta as well, but Frattesi has that "bad to the bone" thing which spits fire in the match. I'm glad he scored as well.

For fucks sake, we all deserved this Inter. No more crap players coming from the bench to destroy team's momentum. We have so much quality now. Hopefully people understood how scary this Inter is.

I don't think Frattesi is really Barella type of player, nor can I agree "what Barella does, he is better at it."; like one thing for sure is Barella can cover a lot more distance than Frattesi; also the side line assisting/aiding I defintely think Barella is doing much better.
The only absolute thing I would say Frattesi is better would probably playing the box, either box.

They are not meant to be identical style, like Barella would spend more time on the ball, and also more fluid in where he shows up in facilitating the team.
The style the run behind defenders I would say a bit different, just think of the CL goals from Barella last year.

The sub today, kinda shows how we can operate differently with Frattesi & Barella while the other 2 midfielders are the same.

I like Frattesi, and I am glad he scored for us, it was what I expected from him.

Congratulations!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

A derby debut goal is magical. You are going to be a legend here! Especially on a night where Barella❤️ had a bad game.

You are eager to be great here!

Well done to whoever recommended him to the management. A very similar transfer to Barella. An Italian midfielder from a mediocre club who costed us a bit (they tend to be over-priced and over-hyped), but the return product was worth every Euro paid.

Mikhy-Barella-Hakan is a well trained unit, they know all the steps of their teammates. Giving a Frattesi a starting spot would unbalance it and you don't want that vs top of the table clash. Midfield is thee most important battles in derbies.

Frattesi is a nobody for Inzaghi still. Mikhy will have a good game Im sure.

Spot on here. I had a hunch feeling. I knew it. Mihky is soo underrated by the rivals its mad.

But this is Frattesi thread.

This guy's abs though. Fucking vampire white walker's eyes from Game of Thrones. This guy will deliver!!
