I mean, if it was Vecino or Gagsy, I'd be the first one offering to pack their belongings and move them from the Inter dressing room to the Milan one...

Yeah, i would do that too. I rate him more than those trashbags tho.

Yes, but he is not Vecino or Gags similar. He was more of a Brozovic. A player who plays regularly for every coach they have. And it doesn't matter how trash Milan was, he and Kessie were their consistent midfielders.
Imagine Brozo after 4 years at Inter, just in a matter a days, telling a I don't give a fuck what Inter means, I go to Milan because they offer me 1m more.
I can only imagine the rage and than the whole "discussion" how "he is a utterly trash player and Milan made us a favor taking him free"! C'mon!

meanwhile on bilan forums, from:
"played like prime kaka last game, cant believe in my eyes"
"He is a class player, shame that he don't have much players around to play with"
"Vital to our play, as evident again."
"instrumental. without him on the field our team does not pose an attacking threat"
"Ibra will continue to motivate Hakan. I expect same form like how he ended last season.Great player I hope he extend his contract."
"If I had to pick one I'd say he's the player who's growing the most."
"Either him or Kessie was our best player last night." He is no longer a joke, this boy is serious."
"We all love ibra but he's the most important player we have. A true number 10.
Bravo.
I always had faith in him even when he was in poor form.
He was too good at Leverkusen to not be great again."

to:

"Oh no please hakan.. dont leave ur the best playmaker in the world

Hes much much better than De bruyne and its not even close"

ps. while on their shit forums, I saw some videos of the goals he scored and I was impressed, he has a very good shot. Anyway, what a difference between their users on that forum and ours, lel. there are some delusional folks out there.

I have a very hard time imagining that Locatelli can be had for €30M, honestly.

I just took that number from the post I was replying to. It doesn't matter. The point is that €9.25m pa total cost is a fucking lot of money. Some people just see a "free transfer" and think its affordable.

At a time when Inter have to cut their wage bill by 20% by their own admission, isn't this a bit extravagant? Imagine if we have to sell another star player like Skriniar or Martinez coz of moves like this one? I would have minded less if we were getting a player like Gosens, but Calhanoglu?! Sorry, I am not a fan of this move, not at this cost.

And no, this does not feel like getting Milan's Brozovic. It feels more like getting Milan's Guarin. Some great games/moments but frustrating & inconsistent AF.

It was always going to cost money to replace Eriksen. Overpay now to secure Calhanoglu and concentrate on other things or have this Eriksen replacement thing on the table among other things when we head to July? Management decided to do the former one. And in the latter scenario, it was totally possible we still had to overpay.

Even Milan player think he is useless and were mad at him this season everytime I checked. Him being useless is hyperbolic, but obviously that's not a good sign.

The plan is to keep him for the contract length.

Really!!? Maybe we looked at different forums? I looked here: https://forum.acmilan-online.com/showthread.php?t=14528

i think this is a bad move from business and sporting point of view, i know he is inconsistent and for sure not world class however.

for business, replacing him would cost you more money than renewing him knowing the difference is probably half a million or a million, now you have to find a replacement who would cost you at least 20 Million plus salaries, which is obviously more money to pay and maybe would take the budget for the RW or CF we are eager for.

for sporting point of view, for sure currently we are not CL contenders, so what we need is someone who can play good in serie a, and Hakan is that guy for the current phase, and he suits our play style, replacing him with low budget player as we all expect is a very risky business, it is a big gamble.

I agree with Maldini about Dollar, however for Hakan i think the management did a very bad choice, losing a good player in a position needs millions to replace, for half a million or a million is a no brainer IMO.

This is from the last post of Calhanoglu thread on Milan forum. And the man is wright. Obviously the same apply to us. Word by word.

Meh not overly excited about it but considering the Eriksen situation I consider this a smart Marotta deal.

we have a great history in developing mid-table team players, let's hope Hakan follows the trend

I have the feeling this is the kind of deals Marotta would do regardless, covid or not, Eriksen or not.

Eriksen's heart issue only made it quicker, otherwise, Marotta would try to offload one of Eriksen/Gag/Vecino/Sensi to jump on this deal.

It's like when he bought Khedira to replace Vidal.

I saw some videos in you tube... some are shocked, others are relaxed but still a litle pissed off because 1) he goes to Inter 2) Milan already paid Tomori, Maignan, still need to pay Tonali and wanted to upgrade other positions.. now there is another position to upgrade and don't have much money to spend for other players. It's anyway hard to find a decent player for that position, you need to spend at least 40-50M (someone like De Paul for example will not go for less then 40M)

Anyway i read that Milan tryed to offer 5M to Hakan but the agents have said that he already give the word to Inter :awwyeah:

edit: and apparently it was the agents that offered him to Inter... that shit gets better and better, he literally is destroying Milan

Where does the opinion that Calhanoglu is a lazy player come from anyway? I asked my Milanista friend about Calhanoglu and he said this motherfucker works hard, runs a lot, and constantly presses. Not sure if he was fucking with me though.

Brozovic comes to mind, very hard working player but often looks too clueless careless and tends to get one people’s nerves.
