Martinez is not going to be bought because he's going to be a 2nd keeper, but a future 1st. Loser.
He is second choice as an option to Bento.

Imagine going for a second choice 15m keeper because you can't afford your 20m first choice. Losers.
To be fair I think Bento isn’t going anywhere for 20 mil now that he’s in the national team.

Yeah management has earned the benefit of the doubt.

When it comes to Martinez and Bento prices, Martinez will be cheaper in euros, considerably cheaper. I would guess we won't put much over 10m€ on the deal, the rest is covered with a counterpart player. This is possible when doing deals with these Italian clubs. Athletico Paranense demands cold cash and apparently that's 20m€. I still believe that's not even enough and agent/3rd party demands their own cut so the total price would be over 20m€ which makes the deal clearly more expensive.

Di Marzio reports Oristanio will be part of this deal. Also says Oristanio joins on loan which makes this interesting, are we really doing to pay 15m€ in cash? Or is Martinez going to join on loan aswell and there's some options/obligations for both sides?

We’re forced to make these types of moves now: potentially big talent before they explode and become a part of the hype train that will price us out— as is seeming to be the case with Bento now. And like we did with Bisseck. To be fair to us, we did try to get Bento last season and they weren’t willing to sell.

So in conclusion, we need special Serie A club who want our plusvalenza to seal the deal. On other hand, if we deal with abroad team, we only can sign players if our players sold first.

I think he will silence many critics here. Good luck.

So 5 year contract, 1,5m/year, 15m transfer fee. That will costs us 5.8m annually. Seems reasonable for backup role costs (Sommer costs us 8m).
Also. Oristanio sold for 5m clean plusvalenza seems fair for his current market value.
So the goal of generating capital gains while improving the squad has been met.

I mean is the plan for him to fight for a starting spot this season? If not dropping 15m and losing a promising youngster seems like a bad move if he isnt going to play for another 2+ seasons (he is 26 already... so being a back up seems not best for him)
